Task 1
Another year, another season that has passed us by in both the DSFL and the ISFL. Respectively, the Norfolk Seawolves and the Honolulu Hahalua both won each league. Let us look at how both teams arrived to their wins in their respective championships shall we?
For the Seawolves, they had a dominant season in the DSFL as they went 10-4 and very nearly had the best record in the league. In terms of offense, they had the 4th best scoring offense at 26.4 ppg, 5th best passing offense at 361.9 ypg, the best rushing offense at 184.6 rushing yards per game, and the worst passing attack at 177.3 yards per game. On defense, Norfolk was the third best defense by points allowed, 2nd in yards allowed at 330.2 yards per game, allowed the least rushing yards per game at 85 rushing yards per game, and allowed 245.3 passing yards per game which was 3rd worst in the league. In the playoffs, they first faced off against the Tijuana Luchadores who they had split against in the regular season. For how close this game was, it can be considered the true Ultimini as it was a close game down to the wire. The Seawolves managed to kick a field goal at the end of the game and managed to get a game sealing interception to close the game out. In the Ultimini, they faced off against the Coyotes. The game was somewhat close at half, but the Seawolves managed to play keepaway and score 10 unanswered points and grinded the clock out to win the Ultimini with the score being 23-14 in their favor. What a great and defensively dominant way to end the season for the Wolves!
Now as we approach the ISFL, let us analyze the Hahalua's season, shall we? For the Hahalua, they had a resplendently dominant season in the ISFL as they went 13-3 and very easily had the best record in the league and were both top 3 in points scored and points allowed, showing off their dominant season. In terms of offense, they had the 5th best scoring offense at 27.2 ppg, 11th best passing offense at 343.1 ypg, the 12th best rushing offense at 84.9 rushing yards per game, and the 9th best passing attack at 258.1 yards per game. On defense, the Halalua was the best defense by points allowed at 17.1 ppg, 2nd in yards allowed at 340.1 yards per game, allowed the least rushing yards per game at 81.8 rushing yards per game, and allowed 258.4 passing yards per game which was 8th best in the league. In the playoffs, they first faced off against the Arizona Outlaws who they had split against in the regular season. For how close this game was, it can be considered the true Ultimini as it was a close game down to the wire. The Hahalua managed to kick a field goal at the end of the game and managed to get a game sealing interception to close the game out as the Outlaws were trying to mount a go-ahead victory but were denied their chance at victory, leading for the Hahalua into the Ultimus for their 2nd Ultimus in 5 seasons and cementing another collapse for the Outlaws. In the Ultimus, they faced off against the Hawks. The game was somewhat close at half, but the Hahalua managed to play keepaway and score 10 unanswered points and grinded the clock out to win the Ultimus with the score being 24-13 in their favor. What a great and defensively dominant way to end the season for the Hahalua, similar to how the Seawolves achieved victory in the DSFL!
