I'll admit, it has definitely been difficult forgetting last season. I mean, we won the Ultimus against one of the toughest teams in league history. I don't think that is something you ever truly can forget. But, we also can't live in the past, because when a new season starts, every team is tied. It doesn't matter what we did last season; it's all about what we do now with the current team we have. I believe the ability to move on to every new game and new season with a fresh style and attitude relies heavily on an individual's mental toughness, which is why I spent this past off-season focusing primarily with working on my mental skills, studying and improving my overall football knowledge so that I can start this season with an all new sense of presence and awareness on the field. I can't let the past make me overconfident for the future, because I will lose my focus on and off the field. So, for me personally, it's not necessarily as much about forgetting the past season as it is not letting those memories effect who I am and how I approach the field each and every gameday. I feel like remembering the past will actually help everyone on the team maintain this great teamwork that we have, as long as we don't let it get to our heads.
