I will be stepping down from Head Office effective start the end of Season 24. I’ve noticed being a member of HO has made me a more tired, angry, and irritable person, and I want to put a stop to that. I also have lots of IRL responsibilities that have been pushed to the wayside because of the HO commitment that I should spend more personal energy focusing on.
I don’t want this to be seen as an indictment on HO - in fact the hardest part about this to me was leaving the great people in the Head Office that I’ve worked with over the past 6 months. We disagreed quite often (a lot more than we let on to the public) but our discussions were always positive and constructive, meaning that we as a team could all stand together, unified. The work we have gotten done in the last 6 months is nothing short of incredible and it is the people in HO who made it happen.
I want to give a special thanks to @bex, who was gracious enough to let me skip some steps into HO and has basically given me the league’s spare keys. I know I was your bus plan and I’m sorry to make you look for a new one. I’ll let you all in on a little secret - Bex is the key to HO being a smooth and efficient operation. If it weren’t for her leadership, lord knows how many things we’d forget and how many responsibilities we’d shrug off. She is a trooper and will continue to do wonderful things for this league. I’d also be remiss if I didn’t shout out @Bwestfield, @Frick_Nasty, and @woelkers for finally getting me that title after 17 long and tortured seasons, as well as being another support group for me.
What’s next for me? I will do one more cycle of offseason events before (hopefully) finding someone to pass that on to. When I can safely retire Wolfie, I’m gonna take a short break from the league and recharge. Don’t worry. I’ll be back. I have $500 million to spend.
I just want to leave you all with a message - don’t forget that this is a fake dot football league. Yes, there are valid reasons to be angry, and yes, people make mistakes. Just don’t forget that the people who made these decisions are here for the same reasons you are - to have fun in fake dot football.
