As a player on the Chicago Butchers, I was drafted into what was considered a rivalry between the Butchers and the Philadelphia Liberty. During my S22 season, the rivalry was tame, the Butchers were one of the worst teams to ever exist in ISFL history, and the Liberty were a middle of the pack team looking at an upswing. During the off season, the Butchers traded a third round pick over to the Liberty for a Defensive end named Mario VonPebbles. This is what really reignited the rivalry between the two teams, and during the season the teams split the matchups 1-1, with the Butchers still being at the bottom of the league totem pole with a promising future, and the Liberty just barely sneaking into the playoffs as the third seed. After the S23 playoffs, the Liberty were considered a team that could be a championship contender, with most of the previous years players returning along with the addition of some new younger talent. But 7 weeks into the S24 season, nobody could have predicted what has happened to the Liberty. From a potential title contender, they have dropped all the way to the very bottom of the league, not even having a single win almost halfway through the season. Nobody could have expected this to happen, especially after their very good S23 season. If we were going off of the ISFL stock market right now, the Liberty's stock has dropped almost 50% since the beginning of the season. No matter how you look at it, the Liberty's season has been a disaster, and the future is not looking that bright either, with one of their GM's retiring recently, the Liberty are going to have to rebuild their way back up.
