14. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season? (5 TPE)
This was my first season on a major league roster, and I wish I could have contributed more to the team’s success. I think that I wasn’t expected to do a lot as a slow earning backup Tight End but I feel like in a few situations, my player could have done slightly better. I think some positives that came out of my player in the season were the fact that I only allowed 1 sack while getting 30 pancakes. This is an area I hope to continue to do well as the team continues to come out of the current rebuild. I also think my player will continue to be an asset to the team as we have a very mobile quarterback and my presence down low could provide an easy escape route when we need to pick up a quick first down. My favorite moment of the season was catching my first, and only, touchdown of the season which came in the 7th game of the season against the Austin Copperheads. Although it was only a 2 yard reception, that seems to be my specialty as I continue to build my player. I also enjoyed converting 25% of my receptions for first downs. When I first build my player, this was something I wanted to focus on. I wanted to be on a team that had Wide Receivers that could stretch the field and I could provide a threat that would be able to be the safety valve. I am excited as my contract remains to stay with the New Orleans Second Line because I think they have a very bright future as we saw in the first have of the season. It was quite a surprising first half of the year as we started the season 6-3 which has to be better than most people would have expected us to do. We are a team that has a lot of rookies, including the quarterback who had an outstanding season to say the least. I think he has a very bright future as we continue to build around him. The second half of the season was not nearly as impressive as we lost the remaining 7 games of the year to end with a 6-10 overall record. That does put us in a position to get the third overall pick in the coming draft which should lead to another top talent. I will reiterate, I think the Second Line have a very bright future ahead of them, we showed flashes of what we can be and with most of our players on the way up, rather than headed out the door, I am excited to see where we end up at this time next season. I think we could be on the doorstep of the playoffs.
