I’ve got a fresh new player and now I get to decide what superpower I want to give them? This is going to be a fun one. Let’s start by taking this one down to the basics of the sim. We’ve had one thing beaten into our heads from the beginning when it comes to player builds. Speed is king. As a defensive end, I would give my player superhuman speed. This is very fitting because my favorite superhero also happens to be The Flash. Being a defensive end, or any defender for that matter, with superhuman speed would allow me to essentially control the outcome of every single offensive play that the other team runs. Do I want to take the snap out of mid-air while the QB is in Shotgun and return it for a touchdown? Sure. Let’s do it. Do I want to allow the QB to have time to get a pass off so I can intercept it and return it for a touchdown? If I’m wanting to get creative with my statline I can allow the QB to have time to get a pass off so I can intercept it and return it for a touchdown. Every play is what I want to make it.

I would give Woody the same superpower I would give myself, superspeed. Speedsters are absurdly powerful in all superpowered contexts. From being fast enough to clear out a city after a nuclear bomb explodes before anyone gets hurt to literally being able to control time itself, it’s the most over powered single super power in existence. While you could argue some like Superman is more powerful than say Flash, that’s by in large because of the sheer number of powers Superman has. No single power of his comes close to the abilities you get from the speed force. And with that in mind, we’re assuming Woody is now on the field against 11 superheroes, each with one power. Well, none of their powers will be as useful as super speed. Doesn’t matter how strong an offensive lineman is or how accurate a QB is if the edge rusher can get around the lineman and hit the QB at the speed of light the moment the ball is snapped.

It is pretty simple to say super human strength and call it a day. In a sport, especially one like football, strength is going to win most of the time. Speed is pretty helpful, too, but enough guys can prevent a fast person. With super human strength, though, you can just hand the ball off each down and let him run it basically into the end zone each time. Even if you aren't quite strong enough to drag eleven guys, you will still have the help of the rest of the team to block for you and get you into a mismatch. The same could be said for speed of course, but strength somehow seems like the better power for an individual. Insane speed would set up the rest of the team to make plays, but strength means your player is always the one you want the ball to go to. There are a lot of good options, but super human strength is hard to top.
Thank you to @enigmatic, @Kyamprac, @mithrandir, @Mooty99, and @Number 82 for some of the sigs in this rotator.
Since Omni Man already has powers, I'll look at the powers I could give my first player, Von Hayes. Being an edge rusher, he would need to be super strong, going up against all of those big boys down in the trenches. Starting with the super strength, another ability would be to pause time. You may think "Oh, pause time so you can just walk to the quarterback". No. The reason he'd be able to pause time is to go over to the bench and take a breather whenever he would need one, having an infinite supply of energy. With those two powers, Von Hayes' statistics would be absolutely bonkers. Being able to throw anyone who lines up against him across the field, and then being able to stop time to gather up his energy again, there are few kinds of powers that would be able to stand up against the combination. The only thing stronger than the super strenght would be the super stench coming off of TheCC.
There are many choices that a QB could use for their super power choice, one of the most interesting being having a literal ‘cannon’ for an arm through super strength, so that no route is too far for a play to be made. The one I feel Kaguya - who already has a great understanding of the game in front of her - would most benefit from with their current build is super speed akin to that of the Flash. The most obvious benefit of this super power is that Kaguya could rush for more touchdowns for the Royals; the fact she already has 479 yards and 5 TDs already without this buff proves that adding an extra element of speed would only serve to break the game for everyone else involved. A more hidden positive to this power however, is the improved ability for Kaguya to avoid sacks that have become all too normal during her time playing for London. As of the most recent week of games, Kaguya has been sacked 99 times over her entire career, including a mammoth 48 last year in what was a tough year for the Royals offensive line. Having a QB with super speed would serve to help a line that normally struggles to hold up against the best DL from the rest of the league.
