13. Expansion is a hot topic I often voiced my way into during the late S20s. I was an adamant supporter of expanding the league to at least 16 teams, with consideration for even more. While I still think there were merits to my arguments regarding how saturated teams had become during that era and still agree that said saturation slightly stunted the league's growth, it's clear to me at this stage that we may well be struggling to fill 16 teams at the current league population. And so ultimately it makes sense that we have stayed at the current number of teams. Still, I'm a sucker for branding, and I don't currently feel super satisfied by the current gamut of brands in the ISFL. It feels like too many of our teams have mediocre, run-of-the mill team names and logos, where I feel like there's a lot more room to have fun and introduce cool team identities to the football world. So whether it be for the purposes of expansion in the future, or rebranding for an existing teams, I'd like to pitch the ideas I have for new team identities in the league, which I think would be really fun! The first branding idea would take the ISFL to Mexico. While the DSFL has representation for the country in Tijuana, I think it would be great to get another team in the country, this time in the league people care about. The team would be the Mexico City Mustangs, a nod to both the horses and to the current automotive industry in the area. The team would be inspired by old hot rods for their color scheme and logo. Second takes us to Asia with the Tokyo Titans. This team would be inspired by mecha in Japanese media with a bright team color scheme and identity. The last team would take us again to Canada, with the Montreal Cosmonauts. The team is inspired by the nearby Canadian Space Agency HQ and brings a new fun brand to the league.
17. The simulated world of S37 is well into the future beyond our current world. In this time period I'd hope to see a number of technological advances implemented into football stadiums to make the experience even more fun and interesting. If Colorado were renovating their stadium for the coming season and adding all the new bells and whistles of the future, this is what I'd like to see. First, as a player for the team, I'd like to see the locker room experience improved even more. These new lockers would be 10 feet by 10 feet boxes where the simulated athlete can have access to everything they need to prepare themselves for combat, from cryo chambers, to a sensory isolation chamber, to a full automatic massaging bed. For the fan experience, I'd like to see pneumatic tubes used throughout the stadium to deliver food directly to each seat. Each seat would also have its own AR headset that could be used to give viewers an advanced overlay providing stats and other information in their field of view while they watch the game.
27. Speaking more on branding, there are a couple of teams in the ISFL currently who have branding that exemplifies what I'm looking for in a team branding to the point that I'd say are the "best" and one that continues to stick out as the worst in the league. The two exemplary subjects in my mind are the New York Silverbacks and the Sarasota Sailfish. I know there is some longstanding consternation as to what fish exactly the logo for Sarasota looks like to some, but I'm not discerning enough, and ultimately they have a pretty kickass looking fish and a great color scheme. The colors are evocative, fun, and fairly unique to the team. NYS similarly uses a color scheme that is pretty unique, but still feels immediately iconic for their location. The logo also, while it may have slight issues with the bottom cutoff, is excellent. On the low end for me has to be the Berlin Fire Salamanders. While I love the choice of location, the team name is a mouthful and a half, the color scheme is meh as hell, and the logo looks like it's of noticeable inferior quality to others in the league.
