In the days before Dax Dangerfield was a standout cornerback for the New York Silverbacks he was a Heisman finalist quarterback for the University of Oregon Ducks. Dax had many big games in his collegiate career, including playing in a national title game, but the contest that stands out the most for him is his very first start as a true freshman. Oregon's top two quarterbacks had gone down to injury early in the season, and Dax went from a possible redshirt candidate to the leader of the team. In his first real test, Dax showed the world what he was made of, beating the UCLA Bruins and thrusting himself into the national spotlight. After a back and forth contest, Dangerfield was finally able to get over the hump and led the team to a game winning drive in overtime to defeat the Bruins 42-25 in front of a raucous crowd. The rest, they say, is history.
For Jordan Hartline there is one moment that defines his Pre-ISFL career and it is the game that started it all for him. When he was just in Pee-Wee football Jordan did not really enjoy tackling or the hard contact of the game of Football. However, one day he was very upset about something so he brought a lot more anger and frustration to the game. He quickly found out that tackling people and catching the ball to score Touchdowns was the best way for him to deal with that frustration and anger. He quickly racked up the scored, grabbing touchdown after touchdown against the opposing team. He would grab 4 Touchdown passes and also discover his love for playing linebacker by adding another 32 tackles on the day. He was so excited to go to football after that and he would never miss another game or practice. Without that game he would never have been where he is now and that is why it defines his career.

Kumquat, as many of his adoring fans are already well aware of, did not start playing football until he was well into his teens. This put him behind many of his peers when he began playing football in college in terms of football knowledge, but luckily for him he was a natural at the game. One of Kumquat's most memorable moments on the football field prior to reaching the ISFL was his first game in college. Kumquat, having sat a season behind Stanford standout running back Hippity Hoppity IV, was eager and ready to prove himself, and prove himself he did. Kumquat's Stanford Cardinal managed 63 points against the Oregon State Beavers, with America's favorite string of islands running in three of the touchdowns himself while hauling in a fourth through the air. Starting his career on such a high note really helped Kumquat out early on and set him on a good trajectory - it's a lot easier to ride the momentum to stardom when you start off your career with such a bang.

In Season 40 Week 8, Hogmolly put up a ridiculous stat line for a tight end - 10 catches on 12 targets for 103 yards and 3 touchdowns. Wolfiebot does not let you filter by a ton of data, but I think there's an argument that is one of the best tight end games of all time. Some tight ends rarely get three touchdowns in a season - or max out at about six or seven. Hogmolly was able to put up half of that in one game. Its led to a pretty insane season - Hogmolly is eighth in the league in receiving yards, considerably among all other tight ends but Walugi from Honolulu. His 10 touchdowns are almost tied for the league lead. After being denied an award last season because of playing too much time at wide receiver and not enough time in the trenches, Hogmolly is fifth in the league in pancakes with 37 including 4 in Week 8.
The pre International Football Sim League career of Tyler One was a pretty good one. At least for him being a 6 foot 5 chad and all. He was hanging out with all the girls and partying every night while getting all them gains in the morning. Or at least so he would have liked that story to be like that, in reality he was just angrily screaming at videogames all the time and live streaming live on twitch every single night for about 12 hours straight until it was morning and he had to hit the gym and school throughout the day. Repeating the same cycle and anger that he had throughout his youth. As he looks back through his computer scrolling past old memes that people made about him, it kind of makes him miss the good old days. Back before he was a superstar prospect in the ISFL. That gaming community made him tough and the man he is today
The big game that got Jake Jefferson recruited to Texas A&M would have been the playoff semifinals of his senior high school year. His team was facing a difficult opponent and were down by a touchdown at the half. This particular team, while not quite as big as Jake’s team, had a really smart secondary that read plays well and stuck to his receivers like glue. On top of that, the weather was quite wet for that game. In the second half, on a long third down in his team’s own end, the call was for a rollout to the right where a corner route for the tight end should open up near the sideline, with an extra go route down the sideline as well. The snap came and as Jake rolled out to his right as planned, he quickly went through his reads and analyzed the play in his head. Both passing options were covered, but he noticed that the linebacker spying him had slipped and there was open field in front of him. His quick feet took him over the line of scrimmage as he committed, and his receivers shifted to block for him. His acceleration was just too much and he easily got to the first down marker and beyond, seemingly out of reach. He was eventually chased down and pushed out by the safety who made a great play, but the 55-yard gain put his team in a great position to tie the game. The mobility and decision-making on this play to turn a low-percent pass into a smart scramble helped add to his case to play college ball QB.

Donte Darius was a very successful high school football player and sprinter, which made him so highly sought after coming out of high school and college. There’s one game that stands out to Donte, and it took place during his Junior year of high school. Donte was playing both linebacker and running back during the season, as he was that talented on both sides of the ball. He recorded 2 sacks and an interception on defense, before running in 84 yards and 2 touchdowns! There is a picture that hangs in the Darius family household of Donte running the ball in for a touchdown. Darius also has photos of himself in college, and during his rookie season. Darius had a record breaking season at LSU before heading into the NFL draft, collecting 8 sacks and 4 interceptions over the course of the year. A picture of Darius returning an interception in the Rose Bowl that year is on the walls of Darius’s home, as a reminder of his elite talent.
Reminiscing is such a glorious and reliving thing to help refocus and give prospective from whence we came in our lives. In terms of my playing career, the game that I would love to reminisce is the SEC championship in my senior year at UF. Florida was 12-0 and Bama was 12-0 as well leading to a battle of undefeateds for the right to continue the perfect season and clinch a playoff spot. I was our defensive leader and captain as I led the team in TFLs, sacks, and pressures, highlighting a ferocious Gator defense. The game started out as a defensive stalemate as both teams felt out the other in order to find discernible weakness. We struck first as I managed to get a FF/FR and return it for a TD. The teams managed to end up at a 14-14 tie. However, in the second half, it was all us as we went on a 21-10 run, highlighted by me amassing 7 tackles, 3 TFLs, a FR, 3 PDs, and a pick in order to seal the game which to a free playoff berth and for me to earn MVP honors for the game!

Y’know I never played in high school, Track was it, and it was pretty good, though it’s hard to take photos of yourself running track. However I did have some photos my friends took of me, and it got me thinking about my entire journey to where I am currently. I was lucky to have a breakout game where people started to remember my name. It was week 5 into the NCAA season, and it was Illinois @ Michigan in a cold and raucous Ann Arbor. I had a few touches here and there throughout the game, and we were getting beat up pretty badly. It was 27-10 Michigan entering the half, and by the midway point of the third quarter it was 34-10 Michigan. Around the 6 minute mark in the third quarter our starting RB planted his leg wrong on the turf on a counter play, and he torn his MCL. I came in with 5:56 left in the third quarter. We started off slow on the drive, usually taking all the down allotted to us, but we scored with our QB throwing to the WR on a screen for a TD, 34-17 Michigan. After a nice defensive stop by our D, we had 12:21 left on the clock in the fourth quarter. Our offense moved to their 40, and I broke off of three defenders at once for a breakout 40-yard TD, 34-24 Michigan, 9:42 left on the clock. Another amazing defensive stand by our defense allowed us to recoup the ball with 7:52 remaining. However, we ran into a bit of a wall on our own 30, and when faced with an immovable object, find a way around it. A double wildcat with a WR at QB and a WR at RB, with me at WR1 spot. Alas, all of the trickery was for a simple PA pass, which led to me breaking off of my CB and peeling off for a 70 yarder all the way to the house, 34-31 Michigan, 4:56 left. Another amazing stand by our defense left us 2:21 to make some magic. On a 4th & 2 on our own 35with 1:01 left on the clock, the decide to run it with me, and I just had some ancient power coursing in me. I broke off 2 defenders who would have sealed the game, juked 2 more stiff armed the SS, and hurdled the FS for the game winning TD, 38-34 Illinois.
