(S41) PT #1 - Off-season Memories

During the off-season Bruce actually just hung out in New Orleans, before he even got drafted by New Orleans. He went there for a friend's bachelor party and just never left. Once he got drafted, he just had his grandma ship all of his stuff straight to him. He spent the entire off-season drinking on Bourbon and Frenchman St, drinking coffee and working out every morning, eating beignets, and exploring the French Market.

He spent most of his time training and preparing for the draft and the season, but definitely enjoyed his time off meeting people, listening to live music, and exploring all of the various, amazing food spots that New Orleans has to offer. Bruce really believed that it was kismet that he ended up getting drafted by NOLA, because it was the universe's way of telling him that he belonged there and no other destination made as much send to him as NOLA. He likes to think his parents kept him there, because they knew that's where his future was.

Over the off season Big Wendell Sailor did find a new hobby. He spent a lot of time with family and friends but one thing he picked up was dungeons and dragons. He had never wanted to play before but this off season he realised how much fun it was and it was honestly killing his motivation to play football anymore no matter how good he was. First day back at the Arizona Outlaws team facilities and he walked straight into the general managers office and told them that this would be his last season playing football for the Arizona Outlaws and that they would need to find a replacement quarter back for the team moving forward. As soon as the season was finished he was going to be diving in to this hobby full time. Making his own world so that he could be a dungeon master for his family and friends and they could all have a fun time together.

Well for Sailor Moon, this was her first ever DSFL off-season after playing a waiver season for the Grey Ducks. After her time in Minnesota was done, she went back home to Tokyo to hang out with her family and later participate in a cosplay competition that was happening in California. This time, they went with a Naruto theme and Sailor Moon herself went as Android 18. While they were there, some people actually recognized Sailor from the Grey Ducks games and actually asked her questions about her short time in the league and even asked for her autograph at some points.

 It was at this point that Sailor realized that the cosplay competition was being held pretty close to the stadium of the Orange County Otters, and it was at that point that she realized how much her life has changed. She is no longer just a normal girl with a strange name, she was now a professional football player. She then decided to dedicate a lot of her remaining off-season time to training and getting ready for the draft.

LeHarm James is quite the traveler it seems. While most people like to go to the beach for their vacation, LeHarm likes to see what the world has to offer. So, for his off-season, he went and spent a few days in every single DSFL city to familiarize himself with the locals. In fact, he even listed his favorite and least favorite city.

"My favorite has gotta be Dallas. I'm probably biased as it's my current team, but it's the place I've been to the most over my college career. I've visited it at least 4 times for The Southwest Classic between Arkansas and Texas A&M. So it's really familiar.

Least favorite though? Hmm, all the places had different things to offer. Sadly, I have to say Tijuana. The locals are friendly, but you can definitely tell the rampant crime has done a number in an otherwise great city. Eating authentic Mexican food is always a plus though."

The offseason was definitely on for Hank Mardukas. As he had just declared for the DSFL draft he spent his time training and beefing up so he could get on to his dream team, The Minnesota Grey Ducks. He knew it would take a lot of hard work to prepare for the DSFL expectations. Immediately after graduation he began his journey back to his parents farm in Yeehaw Junction, Florida. With the help of his old HS football coach Hank was able to use the workout room at his old high school in Vero Beach. For at least 2 hours a day Hank was lifting, running, sweating, and putting everything he had into his training. Hank put on a good amount of muscle and was able to improve his speed by a wide margin. He believes this is what gave him an edge in the April 13th draft.

Hank wasn't spared any time to rest after his training however. Once he'd finish his daily workout he would head back to home and start helping with chores around the farm. Moving hay, feeding animals and general ranch hand duties. At least he got a nice tan out of it. Hank believes that any goal worth obtaining is worth working hard for, he credits his father for instilling in him his crazy work ethic.

Now that Season 41 of the DSFL is ramping up Hank can't wait to get started training with his team and show Minnesota that he was worth being their first over all pick. Now if only he can adjust to the cold.

This offseason I was working on getting dad's farm ready for the fall harvest. Like many of us, my folks are unfortunately getting older, so its harder for them to do everything they used to do. Dad has been doing his best, but it he just can't get all the chores done anymore. He finally let me help this offseason, and hopefully he will let me hire him some help. Hell, the farm does really well on its own, it isn't like he can't afford a hand or two. So I sent dad and mom on a short vacation down to the tropics somewhere. I just let mom book the travel with my agent, I didn't pay attention to where they went. And I went to work.

Now all this is bad news for the running backs and wide receivers of the league. I'm finally back to being "farm strong". I fully expect to absolutely punish the ball carrier this season

Josh Patterson arrived in London, England only a few hours after the Royals drafted him. He was playing for the Amsterdam Adders so it wasn't a long flight to arrive at his new home. After stopping for some fish and chips with his new Teammate @Martin.Bachman he went on to his new Locker Room to pick up his new playbook and meet his new teammates. He had several days to kill before the preseason started so it was time to tour his new city and his short offseason to begin.
He visited The British Museum first, known internationally for it's collection of antiquities from across the globe. Next he stopped by Buckingham Palace to try and have a chat with the new King. He figured Royal to Royal they could finally figure out this whole Brexit mess... Sadly he was not allowed in, and in fact rather rudely asked to please leave... how one can be so rude and polite at the same time, I will never know. The next day he took a walk along the Thames River where he saw the London Eye, Big Ben, and the Tower of London. The next day he spent wondering around Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and SOHO. On his last day he went to the West End to catch a show. All in all, he would highly recommend this city if you have a love for history and exploration!
