While this is coming from a space of limited understanding, and admittedly not an area I care about too deeply, I've yet to really see much of the purpose that the current cap system has in the ISFL. Contracts are fairly standardized, and outside of a few (generally only funny or extremely minor in nature) clauses that players can add into their contracts, you pretty much see standard rates during the core of when most players will be earning TPE. The standard contract for new recruits in the ISFL is $1m a year, which I don't think will lead to any teams struggling to find space. At the end of that term, I feel you're likely to be less active (considering it'll have been 4+ seasons since getting drafted, and interest tends to wane in a lot of games) or wanting to stay with your current team. If you want to leave, I doubt contract terms are the issue. It just seems a bit pointless, I guess? The money is nice to be able to spend on training or whatever, and if its meant to only serve as a small boost to income then I'll absolutely take it, but its early stages seem weird and largely irrelevant.
The league has made a lot of good improvements recently with the move to automatic banking and batching weekly claims into one post! Kudos for those developments! I love that league employees are taking good ideas from other leagues and incorporating them into our operations.
Now, for my suggestions: Probably a common suggestion, but I think we should expand on ISFL gameday. I really enjoy when the hosts stay on and provide commentary to the streams after the show. If that is not already a part of their league job (I assume it's a job at this point and if not it should be), I think that should be added as well. Also, expand gameday to every sim day, not just Fridays. I think that would be great for engagement. Add a little bit more realism to things. With a league our size, it shouldn't be too difficult to find people to fill this role. If PBE can do it, so can we! But even better Code: 165 words -------------------
The league has been pretty fun since I joined, so I don't have too many suggestions. However, here are a couple:
1. The Point Task instructions say that this is Season 42. That would be dope to update. 2. I personally believe that media pay is definitely underrated for what it requires. 1000 words is a lot to get to, so I'd up media pay by a bit. 3. I love the idea of having people commentate the games. I'm in another college football sim league where everyone owns one team, and each week one game is highlighted to have a 30-45 minute "gameday" broadcast for everyone to listen to. It's a ton of fun, and boosts engagement quite a lot. It also causes engagement to continue afterwards, as more scores are gone over and then everyone typically banters around for a bit. It's a lot of fun, and I'm happy ISFL is moving in that direction
I think a cool addition to the league broadcast would be live play by play for maybe the game of the week, playoffs, or even just the Ultimus. It would add another layer of realism to the league and could bring some excitement to the world of dot simulation. Another idea that could help the league is an old-timer pension fund. It'd be good for players like me, who have been with the league since day 1 to collect a fat paycheck and sit back on our laurels. I would be rewarded now for work I did years ago. I see some folks have hundreds of millions of dollars in their account. How is that even possible? We need a redistribution of wealth and I volunteer to be the first one to receive all donations from the league's ultra-wealthy. Sure, I've never held a job in this league, but I stick around like a cockroach. If we had to pick just one of these ideas, I guess I would settle for being the live play by play guy.

The league could potentially be better or more enjoyable to high earning players, if you could unlock some kind of power boost once you reached the maximum build. It seems kind of unrewarding that you start banking all of you hard earned TPE once you maxed out at roughly 1200 TPE. That's about 400 TPE you potentially just save up in a bank account for 1-2 seasons before regression eats off your hard earned points. So my suggestion would be, to use that TPE and allow high earning players to spend those points in any attributes they want to. One thing to consider would be to maybe double or triple the amount of TPE necessary to upgrade an attribute from the normal TPE cost. As soon as you hit regression, you are not allowed to have any overspent attributes any longer. This means, you have to regress all those TPE that you overspent your build at in the first regression you have to go through. There is the risk to break the sim, but it's only one season and you are at your peak in your career, so could still be valid.

There is no cowardice in life that even comes close to rivaling a kicker/punter walking up to the line of scrimmage, looking the other team in the eye, and conceding you’re just not good enough to put the ball in the end zone. That’s what happens every time a team kicks a field goal or punt. A kick, or a punt, is a confirmation of weakness. It's a confirmation of inadequacy. And institutional weakness is unacceptable. In my ISFL, instead of punting on 4th and 1, or kicking a FG on 4th and goal on the 1 yard line, I think teams would have to go for it.
I’m sure we’d miss seeing Ray Baker doing his thing, but it's an absolutely unnecessary part of the league. So ban punting. Ban punting. If they want to score points, force them to do it in the end zone like everyone else.Leave the field-length boots to the pros. This is the way! BAN KICKING!!
Have you ever looked around your ISFL locker room and thought to yourself: "there are not enough elderly folks here to balance out the youthful energy." While we do have some league boomers who can tell us stories of the good old days at the start of the league, we don't have enough users with that grandfatherly or grandmotherly presence that will make us feel the joy of a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven and a warm, loving, and tired smile. So, first I thought about what the league can do to attract older generations. But it is difficult given that the ISFL is an online, simulation sports league and older generations may find the multiple online/technology platforms difficult to navigate. So then I thought of an easier solution: team grandfathers/mothers! While team captains would be elected to take care of team motivation and training, focused on on-field performance, team grandfathers/mothers would take care of the team's institutional memory (although it would still slowly fade in old age) and, most critically, instill a feeling of calm and warmth in the locker room. Perhaps it would be best for them to not be a current player on the franchise (where emotions run high), but instead an older user who still has a vested interest in the happiness of the franchise. For the New York Silverbacks, a team grandfather such as @woelkers or @Bwestfield spring to mind.
A method of bringing more excitement to the ISFL would be to have some play-by-play calling for the streams and then to have a league-sanctioned syndicated stream every week in a podcast like format to help users catchup on the league. There could even be ways to get TPE or money from participating in the streams or adding to the discussion. Another way to make streams and the league a little more interactive would be if there was a channel point system that could be used for bets and predictions on the game and be exchanged for ISFL money. Channel points are a fun, low-risk way people can earn money in pretty small increments and might also incentivize more viewers on stream. I also think a few more random offshoot streams of the league. Something like a voice chat league or a spin off league streamed once a season for a few hours and have some random constraints like no players over 1000 TPE or something.
