I would do a mash up based on the franchises I’ve been the most involved in. While I have been a part of the Pythons for a season and even won my only ring there, Minnesota is still the team I associate myself with in the DSFL due to my time playing and GMing there. As a result, I’d want to combine the New York Silverbacks and Minnesota Grey Ducks. Imagine upgrading the silverback to have wings and the temperament of a grey duck. The league would quickly find themselves unable to compete with the ridiculousness of this combination. We’d likely have to create a super league of mish-mashed teams that take the best qualities of two franchises and reach a whole new level. The Flying Silverbacks, the Constricting Otters, the Wrestling Yetis, etc etc. The more I think of it this super league would quickly become a national favorite for sports.

The two mascots I would mash up together would be the Arizona Outlaws and the Cape Town Crash. First things first, team-wise this is a no brainer for Arizona. Their only kryptonite (or really only thing sort of close to kryptonite) is the Crash/Liberty. They have the best winning percentage against Arizona since the. Crunk/Whiz tenure started dominating the league. So if we combine them, we have no weakness. We’re Superman without the existence of kryptonite. The other reason I want to combine them is because of the mascots. Outlaws are pretty bad ass and feared throughout the land as they ride on their horses and pillage and loot. Well, now imagine a gang of outlaws but instead of horses, they’re riding Rhinos. That take the badassery to a whole ‘nother level of assery. Instead of saddling up outside the watering hole and going into the bar, they smash right through the doors like the koolaid man. Oh yeah!!

The Yellowknife Wraiths have a lot of potential to mash up with the rest of the league.  The theming is solid, and both team concepts can shine through with the gothic morose themes of the Wraiths as a skin over the other team.  In order, here is the order from best to worse

13. Second Line

Second Line isn't exactly a living thing. 1/10

12. Crash

The rhino has potential, but Crash is not a living thing 2/10

11. Hahalua

What is a hahalua?  2/10

10.  Sailfish

Who cares about dead fish?  Probably smells.  3/10

9.  Kaiju

Kaiju aren't real.  4/10

8.  Yeti

Yeti probably aren't real. 4/10

7.  Fire Salamanders

If this is supposed to be dragons, 4/10.  If its actual salamanders, 5/10

6.  Otters

Who would want to kill an Otter?  5/10

5.  Sabercats

Sabercats did exist.  Points for that.  They are already all dead, though.  7/10

4.  Hawks

Dead hawks sounds good to me.  I just don't like the team though, slight bias.  8/10

3.  Copperheads

Dead snakes is good.  8/10

2.  Outlaws

Outlaws are badass, close to perfect.  9/10

1.  Silverbacks

I would have to go mash-up the Luchadores and the Seawolves. Why? Well because those are the 2 DSFL team’s I have played for in my two careers. This new creature would still be a submarine like a Seawolf, but would have arms and a luchadore mask covering it. It would look pretty cool, but it would fight even better. Aa Seawolves are already great at fighting at sea, a Luchadore would make it even better with its ferocity in the ring. These two have a combined fighting that would tear up any opponent that is in its way. If this creature was put into a DSFL game, no other team would stand a chance. Birddogs would get pummeled, the Pythons can’t even touch water, and the Grey Ducks would get absolutely flattened. Nothing can compete against this newly formed masterpiece, as it would plow through anything that comes in its way. Maybe one day these two teams will combine and this can all come true.

I think if I were to mash up some ISFL mascots, my mind immediately jumps to merging the New York Silverback with the Baltimore Hawk. What’s scarier or more formidable than a gorilla? A gorilla with claws that can fly.

I think I’d give it the gold/orange feathers (fur?) color scheme of the Hawks, but it should definitely keep the form of the silverback gorilla.

I make this choice for 2 reasons. Primarily, we want to prioritize designing a mascot that strikes fear into our foes and can prove a lovable character to rally around. I think everyone loves a monkey (as proven by 30 seconds spent in the NYS Discord) and they already have quite a menacing mascot; I think adding the sharpness and cunning of the Baltimore Hawk takes this to another level.

Secondly, I just really like the color scheme of the Hawks and think it’d look absolutely killer on a gorilla.

Alright kids, today we're gonna be mashing up the Austin Copperheads and the Kansas City Coyotes into one single team. Now, for those of you who don't know, the Coyotes used to be the San Antonio Marshals, way back in the olden days of the league; they moved north a few states sometime around S20, and for this grand experiment we're going to be moving them back. So our newly-combined super-team San Antonio Marshals -- formed from one ISFL team and one DSFL team -- ultimately results in ... a slightly better ISFL team? The number of DSFL players who could contribute to a legitimate ISFL roster is fairly small (basically only capped send-downs, and I'm too lazy to see how many of those are in KCC at the moment). Anyway, the whole point of this exercise is to once again ensure that the city of Austin, Texas, enjoys no semblance of a professional sports team, and with that goal in mind this exercise has been a rousing success.
