Another year and another shot at Ultimus glory. After yet another crippling defeat in the playoffs last season the only goal for this season is to go all in and win the Ultimus. We picked up superstar wide out Action Jackson this offseason to help improve an already dynamic offence lead by Cooter Bigsby in his final season with the Wraiths. Between Bigsby, Jackson, Nate Swift and Mathias Hanyadi this offence is poised for a ridiculous season. On defence we're still led by veteran Nero Alexander due to seniority but Mervin Leonard and Maurice Virtanen are the heart and sole of the defence at this point. Coming off of a defensive back of the year award last season Leonard will be looking to repeat and maybe even push Mo Berry for defensive player of the year as he is now fully capped. Keep an eye on Hanyadi to make a serious push for league MVP this season as he has been close the past couple seasons and looking to put up big numbers. Virtatnen will also push Leonard for that defensive player of the year award after putting together a worthy campaign last year. This team is loaded to the teeth with talent and won't settle for anything short of winning it all this season no matter what it takes.
Much has happened in the offseason in Sarasota. After the retirement of Rose Jenkins it wasn‘t for Zack Vega to get another chance. Dexter Banks II, former top receiver, will take over under center now. The coaching staff and he himself saw the potential of him switching to QB and what it brings to the team. He is surprisingly good with his hands and quick as ever. Another year without a top-notch QB would also have lowered Banks chances on racking up receiving stats. With his quickness, he is poised to not only being a passing threat, but also gaining yardage on the ground. This brings another aspect to the Sailfish offense. Gordon steps up as WR1, and this is something that perfectyl fits him, with being already an elite wideout in the league. Besides Witheblock, TE James Angler and Clark Boyd will make their debut in the league. Watch out for James Angler, this big target will make the work of Banks much easier. He is a sleeper at TE and may be in contention for OROY. With some really good RBs entering the league, it may be hard for him though to win it. On the defensive side of the ball, 3 of 4 DLiner retired. Steco Ocewilder is the only one remaining. But Cuco Clemente – a senddown last season – and freshly drafted Son Goku and Mike Karpaasi will make up for the losses. Watch out for them, they will perform from day 1. In the backfield, Raphael d‘Alcott will make up for the surprising retirement of Ragnar Rok. He is another rookie who will show that he‘s ready for the big stage already.
Although some surprising losses and changes were made in Sarasota, this team has very good chances to make the playoffs again. And this very young team will only continue to grow stronger throughout the season. The Butchers season last year wasn't exactly what you'd call sucessful. They finished 1-12, their lone win a 9-5 scorigami over the Sailfish didn't do much except produce a statistical oddity. Are the Butchers a failed team? Well, if you take everything at face value you could be forgiven for pointing and laughing but, inside the locker room and the GM office, the Butchers have been working hard to rebuild and create a winning team. Last season saw the release and trade of a number of declining vets in favour of young blood. A strong draft by the front office gave us the start of a defence that could win championships. Another strong draft this season and the call-up of a future great QB to support the offense is evidence that the rebuild is in full swing and working. So many players in the Butchers are young, lower TPE but, critically, so many are updating regularly and with high engagement. The locker room is a positive place to be, player initiatives to help each other max earn, encouragement and good vibes are rife. I think it's clear to see that The Butchers will be under-estimated this season and, while it might take one more strong draft from our front office team to really make the team pop, we're definately on the right track. Who knows, we might even see those flashes of brilliance start too leak through into this season.

The Arizona Outlaws are steadily improving. I know that, looking only into results, it does not seem like it, but the team is still very much engaged, with only 1 inactive player on their roster, making it one of the top, if not the top team regarding activity. This means that every week, the players get better and the probability of a win increases.
Leading the team is the forever young Quarterback Jay Cue (suck it @Frostbite), followed by an extremely young core, on offense and defense. Baby Yoda rushes, Saba Donut, Jah Burberry and Thomas Passmann catching passes, along with Tight End Heath Evans, makes for a very exciting offense, capable of scoring on any team. Defensively, probably the youngest core of the league, that last season had 7 rookies starting for the Arizona team. Now, on their sophomore season, we can only expect the defense to step up another notch and improve their stats. My idea is for the team to grow this season, i do not think the Outlaws will reach the playoffs, but it would be cool if we could get near a .500 record. Looking at previous seasons, getting close to that record might put is into playoff contention, but as we all know, the ASFC is brutal. (213 words)
This will be the rookie year in the NSFL for Heinrich Kackpoo with the Sarasota Sailfish. As expansion franchise in their second year Honolulu is clearly not done in building a team that would be in the mix for the title. There simply are too many holes to fill right now. So for this year the goal would be to improve steadily over the course of the season and of course improve the 4-9 record from last season where they finished last in their conference although having only the third worst record. The first goal would be to not finish last in the ASFC again. The second, and clearly the harder goal would be to even out the record and maybe go .500. With a bit of luck this could absolutely be possible.
With the quarterback Corvo Havran deeply in regression this will be one of his last seasons in the NSFL. The weight of the team lies heavily on him and his no. 1 Jed Podolak. The running back duo Ke?oke?o K?ne-Maika?i and Ruff Ruff also needs to step up. The performance of the leaders on the defense LB Mack Arianlacher and the DEs Jayson Kearse and Logan Noble Jr will also decide the outcome of the season. As for Heinrich Kackpoo the season will be about growing into the team and developing to eventually take over more responsibilities in a otherwise very young team from top to bottom.
