So we’re four games into the season and it’s been a bit of a mixed bag for the London Royals. As with any draft which is looking at rookies it’s sometimes difficult to judge how players will perform, and in particular how they will improve week on week. It’s looking like the London Royals have made good decisions on the draft board thus far, and I’m saying this despite the shock double loss a week ago. Sure, you’d expect early round picks to be in the mix and this is certainly the case for the London Royals. But it’s the draft picks from the later rounds which are really adding true depth to the roster and it may well be these players which see the team go on and have a very productive season – complimenting the old guard in many respects. We’ve seen glimpses on the field so far; the demolition of the Dallas Birddogs appeared to be more of a coming together, more of things starting to click, players delivering what on their promises. Will they continue their rise over the next few games? Only time will tell in that respect. But if I was a neutral I’d be keeping an eye out and taking note on what may be achieved over in England this season.
