At this point in the season, the person who should be in the forefront of the awards committee’s minds for the DSFL awards is Bronko Mills of the Tijuana Luchadores. At the time of writing this, Tijuana has the number two ranked rushing yards in terms of yardage, however both running backs take up the number one and two individual yardage stats out of the entire league. Of the two, Bronko Mills is currently in the lead with 667 yards, 14 yards more than his teammate and exactly 30 yards more than the next best rusher. While large rushing volume in the DSFL usually means high usage and poor efficiency, this has not been true this season with Mills. Despite leading in yards, Mills is actually only 8th in number of carries. He currently leads all running backs in yards per carry at 6.1, with the only person higher than him being a rushing quarterback using the 79 speed cheese build. In addition to that as well, Mills is currently leading all DSFL running backs in pancakes with 9, making him a huge asset in all facets of the offense. And to top everything off? Mills is a rookie. I would be very surprised if the season awards didn’t include multiple awards for Bronko Mills this season, including Offensive Rookie of the Year, Running Back of the Year, and possibly even Offensive Player of the Year or Most Valuable Player.
