I have loved watching the games so far in the new sim. It’s so much more entertaining to see every down play out in real time. I also really like how you can see the ball go through the air. My player is a wide receiver, and I think it’s cool when the ball is thrown towards my player and I have no idea if it will be a completion, an inaccurate throw, or a drop. This is way better than the last sim when it wouldn’t show incompletions.
Both my player and team are playing decently. One thing I found interesting was how my player takes on a completely different role in the new sim. I changed archetypes from speed receiver to slot receiver. Last season, my player Killian Chambers’ average reception was 19.6 yards. Through three weeks with the new sim, I think my average completion was something like 9.4 yards. This is because my player seems to be running a lot of shorter routes and trying to get YAC. Chambers finally got a huge play, getting a 62-yard TD in Philadelphia’s win against the Hawks. In the last sim, my player would usually get behind the defense and get a long TD when no one caught up to him. In the new sim, my player does a lot more after the catch. Thanks to the big play Chambers had against the Hawks, his average reception length went from 9.4 to 13.2 yards.
