Moving away from DDSPF 16 was always going to be a welcome change but 21 does seem to be off to a slightly rocky start. RBs have already had their position skill changed and seem to be in a weird spot where runs are either going for 1 yard or 50. While YPC looks fairly reasonable among the top RBs, all of their longest runs have been far and away above what we saw in the previous sim, and a lot of their usage gets much less yardage. However, on the opposite side, we have QB stats, through 5 games we already have 3 QBs over 1500 yards and we look to be on pace for several 5000 yard seasons. Completion % is up across the board with no one dipping below 60% where last season only 1 QB topped 60%.
It does tend to make games more exciting to watch though as there is always the potential for a big play at any given time, both on the ground and in the air. Only 3 QBs haven’t had 70+ yard throws so the potential for the field to flip at any time makes for an exciting game. The streams are slightly too long to watch all the games unfortunately, but we’ve had thrilling games every week.
On a more personal note, my player may as well not be on the field at times, but he’s doing his best.
