To be totally honest, I'm not super familiar with how the voting goes for league awards, but if it's anything like the NFL the League MVP will go to a QB regardless, but I would be very surprised if the Arizona Outlaws starting running back Tatsu Nakamura didn't receive at least the offensive MVP and a handful of the League MVP votes. He's leading the league in rushing with a solid five yards per carry average and second in rushing touchdowns by a margin of a single score, all while being the feature back on the team with a league best 8 and 2 record. On top of that Tatsu has also added 240 receiving yards and a pair of receiving TDs to tie Raphtalia Chan for the RB lead for total TDs. After starting the year 0 and 2 by a combine margin of 4 points, the Outlaws have stormed back with 8 straight wins on the back of Tatsu, and I think that is deserving of some high praise. Behind his stellar effort, the Outlaws are first in their conference and second in the league for rushing and toal yards per game, despite being the worst passing team in their conference and second worst in the entire league from a yards per game perspective. If that doesn't convince you that a RB can carry a team and deserve an MVP trophy, I don't know what will
For this award I am going to go with a player who has done better each season in the ISFL. He is in his third full season in the big leagues, after being called up right after the season twenty five draft. Mark Walker is shooting for the most improved player/breakout player of the year. As of week 10, he is currently sitting in seventeenth in total receiving yards, sixteenth in wide receivers. There is only one player ahead of him with less receptions and another one is tied with fifty four catches. He is currently averaging a hair under fourteen yards per catch and sitting on 752 yards. But where Walker seems to excel, is in his touchdowns, he is currently sitting at sixth most receiving touchdowns in the league with seven. If we look at his stats and consider there are six more games remaining in the season before the playoffs, he should finish with over one thousand yards and could also finish with ten plus touchdowns for the season. This is all on a team with a lot of weapons. He is the number two receiver behind Kai Sakura, and the Wraiths also have a couple of other receiving threats in their tight end Zee Rechs, and their third in line wide out Dre Matthews, who each are sitting on five touchdowns. So even with that competition, Walker is still managing to have a career year. In fantasy production, he is sitting as the ninth best scorer for wide receivers.
There are other great choices out there. But I think it is time Walker gets some credit.

Big Buster 'Boulder' Bawlls should wipe the floor with every one with awards this season. For no reason other than he is the greatest Fullback ever to grace this game.
In all seriousness though, Buster should be given the award for best performing Turtle and best performing Scotsman. While one turtle has been struggling with his team situation which has been having a negative effect on his performance. While another Turtle has been struggling with a position change that has also impacted another Scotsman’s performances. The last Turtle is never worth mentioning because he is always doing something that shouldn’t be talked about and is currently working on his gentlemen’s dive bar. There is another Scotsman somewhere but for some reason we only ever meet on the field and he usually ends up on the losing team. Now why is Buster Bawlls the best? For a start he actually helps his team win games. With a grand total of 2 touchdowns on the season. Which is what the others could only dream of. A monster 70 + yard run which is crazy for a fullback, props to the fellow Turtle that brought him down. Not as impressive but certainly room for more in his massive belly, 22 pancakes. Give the man his awards already. prompt Wrote:We're now halfway through the season and some players are already standing out tall in the index with some flashy stats. Share your early predictions for who you think might get an award this season and why, or talk about who you think deserves an award even though the stats might not be there to fully justify it yet. Personally, I actually think that there are very few outliers in most stats so far this year (end of week 10). For every position leader I took a look at, there was someone else who had their own collection of stats that was also compelling. Looking at place kicker, for example - McDairmid, Fenick, and Small all are having great years. They've each missed only 1 field goal (all 40+ yard attempts), have multiple 50+ kicks made, and are 100% on extra point attempts. I honestly don't know how you could genuinely think one is statistically the best of those three other than having one on your team. And there's even an argument for Sidekick who has fewer 50+ made but hasn't missed any XPs or FGs. And looking at various other positions, it was similar - one OL has more pancackes, but has also given up more sacks so how does that compare with the 2nd most pancakes and no sacks given up. Or for receivers, do you value the player with more touchdowns and a higher average but 20 fewer catches, or the higher volume lower average one? Or what about 28 pancakes and 70 receptions but 400 fewer yards than the leaders? At the end of the season, I assume that team stats or individual outstanding games will work as ways to help pick one player vs. the other in these kinds of situations, but I think what I'm really seeing is that the field is really open with multiple contenders for each award right now. Star Players - WRs. A couple of WR players really stand out. William Lim from Colorado Yeti leads the WR stats with a stunning 1263 yards and 6 TDs. The player has got 1225 TPEs, so basically, he has exhausted the max for all his attributes. Lim is just an S22 player, so he will continue to grow for a couple of seasons. Ed Barker ranks second in Yards (1176 Yards) with 8 TDs. It is equally amazing since the player has earned about 1210 TPEs. Barker has also got the max numbers for all his attributes - even with 80 intelligence, which proves useless for a WR. My player Mario Messi has got 515 TPEs, and he ranks pretty low in all the WRs, as expected. I am just very happy that Messi is not ranking the last or second last on the long list of WRs, especially considering this season as his first in ISFL. QBs. Butchers is leading our conference, and one good reason is their star QB - George O'Donnell, and equally impressive is Ben Sloth from New Orleans. Both have got about 1200+ TPEs. Their completion rates are 63% and have scored 20+ TDs. They also controlled their interception numbers very low. Extremely effective QBs. What can I learn from the star players? Well, you got to make your points up to 1200 TPEs first, and then you can think about achieving their stats. Need to work hard!
