Cobra Kai's draft
It was a hot and sweaty night in Dallas, Texas. The entire Birddogs team had come together for draft night to see their draftees go to new teams. But it took until the 7th overall pick for seeing the first pupper going off the board. Cobra Kai was being drafted by the Honolulu Hahalua. It was definitly the expected destination for Cobra Kai, as he had expressed severe interest in joining this franchise. Who doesn't love Hahalua after all. I loved the original name and logo and with knowing and liking some of the people already on the team it seemed (and still looks) a great fit.
Cobra Kai expected to grow into a RB1 role a bit faster though, as Nicholas Ayers definitly improved his earning speed since Kai joined the team. So Kai was definitly happy landing on the Hahalua and does not consider leaving them anytime soon.
So yeah, with telling them to draft me, it wasn’t much of a surprise. I know NOLA had interest, but with a later pick, so the fifth overall pick was never an option. And the Silverbacks who also were interested, had a chance to land Captain Rogers in free agency, eliminating the need for a running back, making it an easy choice to go with defense.
But drafts can definitely be both stressful and fun, so I’m happy with the outcome on this one.
