The ISFL, then named NSFL, is the first sim league I've ever joined. Everything was new to me and I hadn't really gotten started until RainDelay contacted me when scouting for Myrtle Beach for the Season 21 DSFL Draft. Rain helped get me started with the Mock Draft PT and also pointed me towards the Wiki PT which helped me get some TPE and not fall too far behind the rest of the S22 class. Inverted/Kyle and Jay_Doctor were another two who helped me early on. Kyle was the second scout to contact me and during our conversation mentioned some attributes that I should focus on for my build at safety while also pointing me toward Jay_Doctor who was also more than helpful when discussing which attributes to prioritise as a free safety.
The Season 22 class was pretty big, but I didn't know anyone right of the bat. I got invited to a S22 DB server created by FurFurFurson/Buck where I met other S22 defensive backs JOEB, Mori, Colabear, Mith, Seb, Warner and Zamir as well as honorary defensive back RussDrivesTheBus. Buck started the group to get a bunch of us together and think of how we could stand out in the S21 DSFL Draft to get selected in the early rounds. It was a nice group to be part of and pretty much everyone there was earning well and among the TPE leaders in the class heading into the S22 NSFL Draft. I hadn't been all that active in terms of media/graphic production or getting a league job so was a bit behind relative to them but it served as motivation to try to close the gap and catchup. The S22 DB group was probably the reason why I stayed active in the league early on and without it I'd probably wouldn't have stayed as long as I have.
Testing (or a more apt description of attempting to test) has been been something that I've been doing in some capacity since Season 22. Toasty showed me how he tested during the S21 DSFL Playoffs which got me interested in testing and also provided resources to help compile results quickly. I'm not entirely sure of the value of testing but the idea of trying to find ways to help the team was something interesting and I have Toasty to thank for introducing me to that aspect of the league.
