Looking back over the seasons from S20-30, there is a specific team in that time period that I look back on fondly. The S27 was a very close race, with the two best teams being the Sailfish and Butchers. The S27 Butchers had one of the strongest season's in the leagues history. In one of the most competitive seasons, they had one of the best defenses of all time. Leading the league in sacks, allowing the fewest amount of points by over 30, and having one of the most efficient offenses leading them to a 12-4 record. In all of their losses, they only lost by a combined 17 points across their four losses. Having three maxed out corners on the roster, and three maxed out defensive linemen as well, you couldn't run on them, and you couldn't pass on them either, they were primed for a playoff run, had the Sailfish not won the tie breaker by scoring more points than them. Unfortunately, the Butchers offense went silent in the playoffs as they were eliminated by the Yeti. With most of their roster returning, they were more than ready to run it back, had it not been for the unluckiest season in possibly ISFL history, where the Butchers defense collapsed and allowed almost 200 more points than the previous season's total. Unfortunately, the Butchers never got to have another run at the Ultimus, but hopefully in a few seasons, this rebuilding roster can carry them there.
