28. Choose one existing award. Tell us why you think a certain player should win that award this season. Stats, or anything else possible should be used to support your case.
I would like to analyze some of the top defensive performers looking to capture the Defensive Player of the Year award for season 31. The main contenders should be, Rusty Rucker, Juan Domine and Maverick Bowie and man it is sure tight. These three were top in their position and its going to be really tough for voters to chose between them as they all had amazing seasons. My top pick would be Maverick Bowie mainly becuase of his turnover capability with eight interceptions on the year and 41 pass deflections, that is amazing cornerplay which really makes the offense limited. The two LBs also put up some massive numbers, racking up double digit sacks and grabbing a few INTs themselves. It really comes down to the value of all the tackles, sack numbers and, ability to cause turnovers compared the Bowies just stellar coverage and interception ability. I may be a bit bias but linebackers are paid to get tackles, sack the QB and both of them were good at that but its not like they were leaps and bounds better than their peers in these categories. On the other side, Bowie had 3 more interceptions that his closest competition and lead all CBs in tackles and PDs. This is something that voters need to be looking at because it can be really hard to quantify just how great a player is just comparing raw stats, its important to weigh the opportunities and compare within the position as to which player had the greatest impact on the league as a whole.
22. You’re in charge of entertainment for the Ultimus or Ultimini half-time show. What would you do?
For the halftime show of season 31 Ultimus were going back to classical. Instead of all these rock and pop groups that come in and fizzle out after a few months we're going to bring some true greats in. I'm thinking the Boston Philharmonic will grace the stage and play some of the greatest tunes from NFL films while we watch some of the highlights from the season. Heck you know how they have those torch/light wands for the spectators? Well this year we'll be making some changes to that too, now you will be getting an edible corn on the cob wand and there will be a competition for who can eat it fastest in the crowd and the winner gets a sideline pass for the second half. That's not all! Since the Ultimus is such an event half-time will have fireworks that rival new years. Teams and fans wait the whole season to see if their teams will win and what do they get if the lose? A great big nadda, instead they can enjoy the fireworks which are well worth the price of admission, I'm talking mortars, boom cannons, fizzie bops, rain reapers the whole shebang. By the end of it you wont even remember the game.
27. What team do you think has the best branding in the league? What team do you think could use a refresh? Why?
My favorite team branding I think are my own Orange County Otters. It is rare that you see a team using a polarizing color such as orange as their primary and OCO does it well. The otter mascot is also so very cute and playful but if you get on their bad side they will bit and hit you! I think a lot of the inspiration comes from the Oregon State Beavers but its done really well. As far as a team that could use a refresh, my choice would be the Chicago Butchers, not in terms of location or name but in terms of logo. I think its a little too campy/ Halloweeny for my taste. I would really like to see a person that I can attribute the butcher too. They can go several different ways, either a proud butcher similar to the old patriots logo, another scary butcher like the Oakland Raiders I guess, or something cute and cartoony like your friendly neighborhood butcher. I think this retooling of the logo really makes their team pop and entices new players. As much as I love being the villian and being the scary team it can be a bit of a turnoff for newer players. Either way the Butchers are an amazing team name and an amazing city!
17. Your team has announced that they will be laying ground on a new stadium next season. What additions would you like to see included in it. No graphics option available here.
Well, if there is a new stadium breaking ground, my player Dominos Pizzaman would be first in line to put in a bid for his pizza franchise. The name of his franchise is Bondi Pizza Ballroom, this was a venture that Pizzaman started during his stint in Bondi beach. The franchise specializes in theming and specialty pizza's each location has a late 1800's ballroom feel with servers dawning Victorian uniforms and lots of dancers that get the pizza party going! Obviously this doesn't really fit in a stadium setting but there will certainly be the quality of ingredients and service that go along with the franchise name. Instead of the great theming there will be a custom pick-up window that mocks a ballroom coat claim and as a souvenir you get a little mini coat in lieu of a receipt. As a promotion, the Pizzaman himself will be making guest appearances before games serving out slices and maybe once the stadium is setup the location will be in an awesome location so that the Pizzaman himself can deliver some pizzas to first row fans while the offense is on the field. Stadium food is such a great experience at most fields, this addition will catapult the new stadium to the top of the rankings, well hopefully.
