If I, CMC'S Burner could have a superpower, it would be invisibility. I think as a defensive back, it would lead to utter chaos and frustration for the quarterback. For one, they won't even know who I'm on and if someone looked open, the QB would have to second guess themselves and wonder if the goat is lurking. To eliminate the caveat of the opposition being able to see my helmet and other equipment, they would also be invisible. Also, if I intercept the ball, which is inevitable, the ball would disappear into thin air, all but guaranteeing my team a touchdown. Maybe one of the best things that comes out of this superpower could very well be getting away with any and all forms of pass interference. Refs in the most part miss a lot of calls anyway, so it would make their job a nightmare to deal with an invisible player. If only the sim allowed for superpowers...
Carter Knight is already playing like an elite superstar this season, and is putting on his best season to date (DSFL included). So, giving him a superpower would simply be over powered! The most advantageous superpower would easily be the ability to stop time. Carter Knight would have all the time in the world to read the pocket and analyze the defense, making throwing picks nearly impossible. Because time is stopped, Carter could possibly even throw the ball to himself! Truth be told, while this superpower is obviously an upgrade, Carter Knight needs no powerups. The receiving core of Saleem Spence, Mario Messi, Jackston Kingston, and Troy Barnes provides plenty of support for Knight and the Sailfish, and the rushing duo of John Huntsman and Rocky Rhodes is truly the best in the league. Having the ability to stop time would certainly make the game easier, however the Sarasota Sailfish are clearly doing just fine on their own.
Choosing just one super power is incredibly difficult, especially when considering the different power opposing players could come up with to counter the ones that could be used by me. I think we all know that speed kills in this sim, so super speed is a very tempting offer. At the same time, speed isn't everything, especially for a TE that slots into a blocking role relatively often. Then, something like super strength might become more valuable. Aside from all those, something that is just plain cool like talking to animals or breathing underwater is never a bad choice since there is, in fact, life outside of football. But I think the best choice to me at this point in my career is the ability to read minds. With that, you know where the QB is throwing the ball, the play the defense has called, and the moves the defender might use to try and get past me to the ball carrier or to try and keep me from busting a route wide open. So mind reading has to be my choice.
For skill position players, overpowered abilities like teleportation or flight are likely top contenders for improving a team's odds of winning. However, Swantavius King is a placekicker, so typical S-tier superpowers aren't likely to help him improve at his job. Assuming King still needs to perform the act of kicking the football, it makes sense to focus on a power that will either improve his accuracy or distance. Fortunately, we need look no further than the list of traits available to kickers for ideas! The two that qualify as 'superpowers' are Laser Sights and Bionic Leg. While Laser Sights might look cool as King prepares for field goal attempts, it's hard to tell how this would actually impact his performance. So we will go with the natural choice, Bionic Leg! Presumably, this leg has the effect of making kicks possible from any distance on the field. However, the accuracy will naturally suffer as a result, so I think this implementation would lead to some interesting tactical decisions. If you go three and out on your opening drive, would you rather attempt a somewhat feasible 90-yard field goal and risk giving your opponent incredible field position or guarantee a booming punt to change the field position?
