Well, you brought this on yourselves with with the D&D reference in Roll 20.
There are many powerful spells in the world of Dungeons and Dragons, the vast majority of which are significantly more powerful than the lowly 2nd level Misty Step. However, what Misty Step lacks in strength, it more than makes up for in versatility. Locked up with a particularly tenacious offensive lineman? Misty Step poofs you out of a grapple with ease. Getting outrun by the speedy RB or surprisingly slippery running QB? Misty Step closes the distance, and can even put you in front of your target to cut them off.
Best of all, Misty Step only requires a bonus action. That's right, you can Misty Step and then still grapple your target or knock them prone in the same turn! Most other teleport or speed spells require your action, which means they take long enough to cast that you wouldn't be able to tackle that same turn. What use is teleporting around the field or blazing a trail across it if you can't tackle the ballcarrier? For a defensive lineman, the simple versatility and effectiveness of the Misty Step spell is tough to beat.
