With the season only getting more and more disappointing, it's clear that tensions were getting high in the Bondi Beach Buccaneers locker room. And after an interview by one of the GMs, Tim Glims, things were only getting worse. Fingers were being pointed, voices were shouting, and players were gesturing aggressively at one another. Finally, enough was enough. Tim Glims rushed into the locker room after Bondi's most recent defeat to the scene of yet another argument. He spotted Patrick Cunningham on top of a table shouting at Bean Delphine, so he Tim Glims did the only thing he deemed reasonable. He got up on the table, said "SO YOU GUYS WANNA ACT TOUGH, HUH?", and then proceeded to lift Cunningham up into the air and then slam him down, putting him through the table. Glims of course, fell right on top of him as soon as the table collapsed. He got right back up though and said "ANYONE ELSE WANT TO RUN THEIR MOUTH?" The locker room was silent. It remained silent for quite a bit. Until suddenly, laughter. Everyone started laughing at the absolute absurdly of the situation, including Tim Glims! It seemed to eliminate some of the tension as everyone was able to bond a bit over the bizarre incident of their GM going John Cena mode. Well, everyone besides Cunningham. He was rushed to the local medical facility, but he appears to be in good spirits despite that!
News Reporter: There was a situation in the Berlin Fire Salamander's Locker room earlier today, our sports correspondent has the story.
Correspondent: Today, an enraged fan broke into the Berlin team facility and went into the Salamander locker room to try and announce his displeasure with the results of the final game of the season, which untimely kept Berlin from the playoffs. We spoke to a Cornerback on the team who had a first-hand account of what happened.
Johnny Delusional: Yeah, a so-called fan broke into our locker room disguised as a security guard, and tried to yell at us about missing the playoffs. He caught us at a terrible time, cause we had just lost, so a few guys roughed him up and kicked him out before the real security guards kicked him off the premises.
Correspondent: So you're telling me, you had it all handled?
Johnny Delusional: Yeah it was honestly a non-issue haha, it was actually kind of fun to kick someone's butt off the football field!
Correspondent: Thanks for your point of view, back to you in the studio.
News Reporter: Thanks for the run-down, and glad to hear that the team is safe after that scary situation.
Arguments and disagreements are definitely common in absolutely every single sport at every single level and in every locker room in existence, but I am willing to bet that none of you have seen an argument like an Austin copperheads head argument over someone taking someone’s else food or whatever you have out of the team fridge. Especially if we are talking about a big man’s food. It is not a pretty sight. I’ve already seen it happen at least 12 times this season where someone sees some delicious looking food that doesn’t have anyones name written on it. I’m sure you’d think the obvious fix would be to just say “hey make sure to write you name and if you’re going to take something ask first” but nope that didn’t work at all. The only way that we were able to fix it was to buy every on the team their own personal mini fridge in their locker. And I’m very okay with that
Like any regular season, there will be ups and downs that seem to be routine through every team. Most of the time, the downs can be mitigated or even outright resolved without much to do. However, sometimes, a major event can happen that has to be dealt with in a timely manner in the locker room. For NOLA, such a major event happened. Before the conclusion of the regular season, a fight broke out in the locker room due to frustration to how the season unfolded despite promise at the beginning of it. I was a bystander looking inward as a player, but I felt that I had to help ameliorate the situation. For my 2 fellow players, I brought them into a private room in the whole locker room and helped them calm down and hash out what either of them were mad about. It turns out that both players are cool with each other and that the fight was just an intense practice that spilled over due to frustration with how the season ended. So luckily, I was able to help the team and my teammates get through this event relatively with no trouble at all!
While football is a brotherhood things can still get heated from time to time. When one does pop it is handled in house and that's what happened in the fight I've seen in the locker room. The last fight I saw was during my rookie season with Yellowknife. It was between two offensive players, the offense was struggling to get on track a little bit and I think both players were trying to hype each other up but it went too far and lines were crossed. The fight broke out in the locker and we ended up having to hold back both players. Thr player I was helping to hold back, we managed to get him outside and into the parking lot at the training facility. He told him to just go home and he did and that settled things for the day. The next both players had a meeting with the offensive staff and the head coach. The grievances were hashed out and the offense even started to play better.
