Prompt Wrote:With the playoffs right around the corner, every team is no doubt giving it their all to make that final push towards securing a spot and having a shot at playing in the big game. With this no doubt being such an important time for teams to keep focused, it clearly seems like the best time to hold a campaign for your team's next GM! For this PT, write about why you or your player would make for a fantastic GM and what they'd seek to accomplish as one. For current GMs, write a convincing pitch about why you or your GM character should remain GM. Feel free to be as serious or silly about this as you want!
I would not make a good GM due to not making enough time for it. My impression of the GM position is that it requires a lot of work - roster planning, contract negotiations, scouting, game strategy, trade discussions, team assistance, morale monitoring, and probably way more behind the scenes I don't even know about. I absolutely don't have enough time for the ISFL to be able to do that. Sure, some of the various tasks can be delegated, shared with the other GM, and so on, but someone still needs to make final decisions, roll up and assess gathered data, distribute tasks, and keep an overall eye on everything. All that is a hefty minimum requirement. A lot of the relationship and trade stuff I assume also requires being around and talking with the other GMs on discord often and at all kinds of hours. As someone not interested in having discord pinging my phone when I'm not at a computer, I think I have the wrong mentality to be the most effective GM. Just remaining a player (and occasional media writer) instead is much more my speed.
