Ignoring the importance of league legacy and history takes away a huge part of what people love about the league.(12-02-2022, 06:42 AM)qWest Wrote: A real defiling of league history.
Sir, this is a dot football league

Yeah, the Philly brand has been part of the league since Season 2. What's that, five calendar years it's been around for? Sure. It's a big change to make; but, I think you assume that we did it with a blase attitude, which couldn't be further from the truth. We (members of the war room) did not take any of this process lightly. Hell, if you were still in HO you'd see the proposal we put forth to make a case for rebranding (Negs and Lucid went overboard crossing every T and dotting every I). Now, you talk about history. Let me ask you this: what's the history of the Philadelphia Liberty brand to you? I'm willing to bet it's not, "historically successful brand that people cherish and respect, as well as play for based on name recognition alone." Want to know my personal history of the Liberty brand? "Good try guys," or, "holy hell Philly really is cursed lol." Now, given that your first player won a buttload of games and awards, you probably can't understand that feeling, but I can tell you it's one that's shared with anyone who's spent any significant amount time on the Liberty. I get it. We changed something that had been around since almost the beginning of the league, and it's a big shock. Totally understand that feeling. Change is hard, especially when it impacts something you've grown accustomed to. But, none of these brandings are sacred relics that need to be treated with reverence. Out of all the culturally rich and significant places on the entire continent, you people picked South Africa. LOL. I thought Fire Salamanders was the worst thing I've ever seen in a sim league. Then I woke up today and saw this disaster. Another day thankful I play for a good franchise. MR 8X ULTIMUS CHAMPION
