Here is my opinion that will quickly get swept away by the deluge of posts--
- Everyone agrees that Zap being banned is good.
- It is fair to be upset that the process was only communicated to league leadership instead of the entire community. Perhaps a better approach would have been to make this post immediately stating that the user was banned and then edit it with the results of the rules summit.
- It is unfair to suggest that it took a rules summit to remove bigotry from the league as 1) the user was banned from the forum and Discord servers immediately (the literal action of bigotry being removed from the league) and 2) we already have (poorly) written rules in place for conduct violations around bigotry, which were identified as part of the rules discussion as being insufficient. I personally am in the camp that HO should have the authority to ban people for violations that are not explicitly codified in the rulebook, but I can understand why they wanted to update the rules and simultaneously communicate the ban to the rest of the league.
