I had a blast watching the competition between Berlin and Chicago...until it was less fun of course for us Berlin players. I thought that I might have the play that mattered most when I brought in a key go-ahead touchdown midway through the second quarter paired with our kicked Known Acquaintance absolutely kicking butt (pun intended) both with nailing field goals and by pinning Chicago deep a few different times. But the play that ended up turning the tides came in the 4th quarter after Berlin had again taken a lead. Chicago had the ball down 2 points on their own side of the field on 3rd and 14. Berlin fans were excited, Chicago fans were nervous, but St. Christmas nailed a 29 yard completion to offensive captain Sharpei Jr. on a blown coverage by veteran safety Sideline-Touchdown. This was the play that put all the pressure on Berlin and eventually led to the win for the Butchers. Can't say it was my favorite play, but it was the biggest one in either game featuring the Fire Salamanders.
