As week 3 of the S40 season rolled around, the Baltimore Hawks were set to play the Sarasota Sailfish. At 0-2, the odds didn't look good for free Hawks to emerge victorious, and for most of the game that sentiment held true. Sarasota held a 24-0 leaf early and went into the half up 24-7. However, some gutsy play by the Baltimore offense and a few defensive stops brought the Hawks within six points with a minute and a half left, when one of the most fascinating plays of the season unfolded. After recovering an onside kick, set up for a do or die play on 4th and 16 with 42 seconds to go. With four receivers running routes short of the sticks, Preston Beatz found Jay Money, his rookie slot receiver, sprinting uncovered on a go route and launched a 38 yard touchdown to put the Hawks on top. This miraculous play was a huge energy boost for the Hawks locker room.
