Quote:10. Through a random lottery drawing, you have been named the league's new commissioner for a day. Congrats! What improvements would you make to the league if you had the power to do whatever you wanted? There are a couple of things that come to mind.
Contract Lengths
Allowing lifetime contracts is great for the teams and GMs, but doesn't give the same amount of upside to the players. Except feeling safe about having a contract until the end of time, so at least they'll get paid. But what hurts players with this is that they're asked to sign lifetime contracts locked in at a lower salary tier than they'll eventually be worth. Of course, no one's forcing them to accept these contract. There are also salary options that can bump the contract up when reaching a new salary tier. But how many of these are we actually seeing. Are players really willing to stand up to their GMs and ask for more money? During my years in different sim leagues the answer is 95% of the time "no". Users instead just take the deal that's best for the team. Hence why we should limit contract lengths to "force" salary bumps after a certain time when new contracts have to be negotiated.
Team-Paid Position and Archetype Changes
This one might be controversial but I believe we should remove the ability for teams to pay for player position and archetype swaps. We already give users the option with one free change during their first season in case they change their mind on their own. I believe the team-paid swaps are mostly done to have a player change position after being drafted to the ISFL. Mainly profiting their new ISFL team. And suddenly the user might be playing a position they were less fond of. After all, we select a specific position because that's the position we most want to play. And again we come back to the fact that, no one is forcing players to go through with swaps. But users are willing to forgo their main want, playing something they find less enjoyable, just to please their GMs and/or friends on the new team.
Quote:19. Your team has announced that they will be laying ground on a new stadium next season. What additions would you like to see included in it. (Written Task)I'd love to see a subway/metro station built right into the stadium itself. Imagine traveling to watch the game, and you can pop into your local subway station and go all the way into the arena. Popping out on the arena station with arrows pointing you to your seat. It would massively simplify it for the fans that come watch the games. And I haven't even mentioned how much better traffic would become if you don't need to find parking for 20,000 people once per week.
When it comes to amenities for the teams and players I'd say something similar but actually car focused. If we're able to limit the amount of fans that travel to the arena by car. Imagine how much more room there'd be for the actual team staff and players. Could set up one garage attached to the arena with instant access to the locker room corridor. No need to walk through five security doors.
Quote:23. What are your thoughts on the sim engine? What sort of improvements would you make to the sim engine if given the opportunity? (Written Task)I'd do anything to not have a meta of any kind. Which sadly is impossible as far as I know. But if we're gonna go into the dream world of what I truly want, that's it. Imagine being able to play any position with almost any combination of attributes, and still do well. Instead of forcing you to immediately max out Speed, and getting Endurance to 71. Every player becomes the same with minor differences in attribute maxes, even if they play different positions.
I like the traits and how they are unique to each player archetype. I'd like to see more limitations or unique stuff related to positions and archetypes. Perhaps adding in even more traits to allow a player to focus in even more on a specific play style. If nothing else I'd rework the traits for the Slot Corner archetype. I've learned 3/4 of them are practically useless since we can't really run slot corners in the game.
