In the 2016 season, the Denver Broncos were a team aspiring for playoff success. Having it being just a year ago that the Broncos won the Super Bowl against the heavily favored Carolina Panthers, the Broncos were scrambling to find a replacement for retired quarterback Peyton Manning. No, that is not why they gave Brice the call. The real reason happened later in the season, right in the middle of the year. The Broncos were going into week 8 without their #1 running back, C.J. Anderson, who they lost a week earlier to a torn meniscus. The Broncos, who at the time were 5-2, really believed that they could make the playoffs and make some big time noise, so they started calling some potential candidates. Now, when they saw Brice Boggs, former Florida all-purpose player, they fell in love. A player so fast with a big 6'5, 250 pound frame? They immediately gave Boggs a call and a tryout, and gave him the soonest flight to Denver. Boggs participated in several team practices to get a feel of what it would be like to play for the Broncos. The coaches definitely liked what they saw, and offered Boggs a one year, six million dollar contract. Boggs mulled over it, and decided to sit out the week 9 Florida Gators football game. Boggs eventually declined the deal, saying that he wanted to finish his college education.

After 1 and a half long, painful seasons in the National Simulation Football League, I, Darnell turner have finally earned an oppritunity to try out for the Jacksonville Jaguars. I could have tried out for any team but I knew that I wanted to try out for the Jaguars more than any other team for a few reasons. The first reason is they were my favorite team growing up. I liked the mascot and the town of jacksonville plus I wanted to choose a team to like when they were bad so I can say I was on the train before it was cool. My second reason is their atmosphere. With Tom Coughlin establishing a winning culture in Jacksonville, I want to join a team thats on the way up. My third reason is I don't want to join an instant contender, I want to help bring my team to the championship. My final reason is I want to play alongside Jalen Ramsey, the best cornerback in the league. Ramsey has established himself as a lockdown corner and I want to learn from him and be as good as him. The Jaguars are the right place for me to go.

The Baltimore Ravens, of Maryland, have a long-standing ability to develop linebackers, no matter their drafted or undrafted position. When Ozzie Newsome, the General Manager of the Ravens reached out to Ian Bavitz for a tryout, he was understandably thrilled at the opportunity.
Bavitz scheduled the try-out awaited impatiently for his chance to walk the same halls some of the greatest linebackers of all time have walked. He arrived early for his workout, preferring to scope out the place a little bit before going in. He watched the NFL players going through their morning workouts, looking for even the smallest of hints on how he could elevate his game to the next level. His try-out began, and he went into it with dogged determination. After several drills and conditioning tests, the coaches stopped him and offered him lunch in the team cafeteria. They told him to go ahead and chat with the guys, the coaches and front-office needed some time to discuss the workout. Much like a reality television competition, Bavitz could hardly contain his anxiety as he awaited word from the coaches. He hurriedly ate his lunch and chatted with some of the players, nervously glancing up at the closed doors he had seen the coaches retire to. After what seemed an eternity, the motioned him in to join them. The team was thoroughly impressed with his workout, but simply had too many linebackers already on the team. They thanked him for his time and told him that they'd be the first they call if the injury-bug hit their linebacking corps. Bavitz left Baltimore, having not been placed on the roster, but he was excited that he had the opportunity to try out and felt it went well. He'll return to the Otters with renewed determination to up his game. Code: 305

The phone rang one Saturday morning during the offseason before season 4 at the Winchester Ranch. It was Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn. Lynn wanted Angus Winchester to come down to their practice facility in LA and do a trial workout for their offensive line. Having recently added former Broncos left tackle Russel Okung they were still trying for solutions to revamp their offensive line that struggled in 2016. Winchester was hesitant. The NFL wasn't interested in him when he first came out of Wisconsin before the S1 NSFL draft. After a record setting S1 and a high-level, but not earth-shattering S2 he had begun to be noticed, but did he really belong there?
Deciding to take a chance Winchester drove down to the LA Chargers facility to meet the coaches and do a workout. When he got to the facility he had a quick chat with the coaches. They talked about schemes, they had him break down some film for them. They then moved into the weight room. The coaches and some other players in attendance gawked as Winchester worked up to a 900lb squat, which he hit for a double. Finally, they went on to the field. In full pads they lined up Winchester at LT for some pass protection drills, they 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year Joey Bosa across from him. Rivers hiked the ball and dropped back, Bosa exploded off the line directly at Winchester, in his trademark bullrush. He planted to hands directly into Winchester's chest and used his entire body to push off into him. He didn't move. Winchester got low, placed his hands under Bosa's armpits, drove his feet forward and shoved Bosa back 4 feet. The coach blew the whistle. He was shocked, but also angry. Winchester didn't pass protect using the proper form. He didn't kick slide back and create a pocket. He stood still and held the block at the point of attack like he was blocking the backside of a running play. Lynn had seen what he wanted to. He wasn't interested. Neither was Winchester. With the suspension of Brian Cushing, who is not expected to remain with the team after the 2017 season, the Houston Texans reached out to the younger Kevin Cushing to explore his potential as a mid-season replacement, given that the NSFL rising star had spent considerable time working out with the elder Cushing. He was invited to a work out session with the Texans which, according to team sources, was “hit and miss.” The general expectation was that Cushing wasn’t exactly ready to start in the NFL and that he might clash with Head Coach Bill O’Brien. General Manager Rick Smith was quoted as saying “we’ll probably offer him a long-term contract, blame him for all our problems, then give up a draft pick to get rid of him next season. Yes, that would be a wise series of decisions on our part.” When asked if there was any chance of Cushing working out long term, Smith acknowledged the possibility. “With a player that young, anything is possible, of course. Given that we will likely be releasing Brian Cushing next season, as we have with all of our loyal players the moment they started to decline, who knows, maybe Cushing can play most of his career here, maybe even getting the opportunity to never make a Conference Championship.”
It would seem that the NFL has just as many problems finding good offensive linemen as the NSFL does. After watching a little bit of tape on the Cincinnati Bengals offensive line, I wasn't surprised when they gave me a call about working out for them. Don't get me wrong, I love playing in the NSFL but come on this is the NFL, the biggest show of them all. I had to give it a shot.
I arrived at their facility early in the week so that I could make it back for preparation for NSFL week 5. After talking with Coach Lewis a little bit about what they wanted to have me do and what their expectations were it was off to the practice field. We ran through a ton of drills, testing my athleticism, footwork, general knowledge of schemes and assignments. But, that was it. They didn't even bother to have me match up against any of their defensive linemen or run through any real game scenarios. They just said I'd hear from them soon. I didn't know if that was good or bad that they barely needed to look at me to make their decision. When I got a call from my agent saying they were planning to offer me a contract I was ecstatic. When I heard it was less than half what I was making in the NSFL I was much less enthused. And when I heard it was because the Bengals needed to conserve cap space to extend Andy Dalton, I knew it was a good call to pass up the offer. I'm happy to be back in Philadelphia playing with a team of players that I enjoy playing with and some management that isn't turning this team into a dumpster fire and a half. Maybe I'll get another call from a different NFL team in the future but for now I'm just happy to be playing football. [OPTION]===========================================

In an absolutely shocking turn of events it os announced that Jordan Yates of the San Jose Sabercats will be leaving the team and refusing his player option in order to begin his NFL career. His career as an offensive lineman in the National Simulation Football League is officially over as his his career as an offensive lineman at all, as he announced that he'll be attempting to play as a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. Yates says the swap from offensive lineman to quarterback wasn't as difficult as he thought it would be; it only took 4 million dollars worth of coaching, relatively cheap and something that his next contract will likely cover and more. Yates has talked about all the young talent in Cleveland that he wants to work with. He plans to throw deep balls to Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman, be protected by Joe Thomas, and be carried on the defensive end by new star defensive end Myles Garrrett. The Browns have a lot of potential and maybe with the additionof Yates at cornerback they can finally make some progress in the tough AFC North. We will find out their fate in the coming season. Expect Yates to go off.

After training hard and sticking to a diet Westfield enters the practice field at New Era field. In order to help out the ailing wide receiver corps in Buffalo, the Bills have brought in some talent from around the country. Westfield would certainly bring new life and a new ability for the Buffalo Bills. In Orchard Park, NY, they have a lot of tools on the offense. But one area they lack the most. The deep threat. They don’t have any player on the team able to stretch the field and give Lesean McCoy an unstacked box. So Westfield comes in with several other players to receive passes and run drills from coaches and players. He played like a champion, receiving passes from both Tyrod Taylor and Nathan Peterman. Showing everyone not only that he can be a vertical deep threat but also a power wide out on the inside. Deep, short, wide receiver reverses. He did it all. He made some flashy plays and some amazing catches. It’s only a matter of time until the Buffalo Bills call on this young man to beef up the roster and finally make it to the playoffs ending one of the longest playoff droughts in sports history. Let’s go Buffalo!
