There is a lot to love about being in the ISFL. There's a genuine joy in witnessing the camaraderie among users, the friendly banter, and the shared enthusiasm for the game. The interactions, both in and out of character, bring a sense of connection. It's equally fun to make genuine new friends in the locker room but also lean into the role play of being a shitposting tabloid writer.
I have really enjoyed being a part of an ISFL roster after getting called up and participating in the War Room. We get to plan out strategies for recruitment and drafting, as well as determine what we want our gameplan to be week in and week out.
And of course, there's a unique, quirky fondness for the sim itself. The intricate mechanics, the... shall we say...unpredictability..of outcomes, and the meticulous design that brings the league to life – it all adds a layer of excitement and engagement that keeps everyone invested in the unfolding narratives of each season.
