A new addition was added to the Crash locker room recently: a bot. This bot, Dynobot, is mainly for showering the locker room with PNGs. We've got a bunch of commands. We have one for when Thor throws the ball to the other team or fumbles it, we've got one for wins, leaving the locker room, and even a Crash themed I Wanna Die meme! We've been getting too much use out of that one lately.
There's also Negs, who brings live updates of every single game, complete with @ing people who do great things during the dot football, such as sacks, turnovers, or touchdowns. As for me, I bring the energy, hyping the team up before games, and complaining vociferously when we lose. Again, I've been doing that last bit too much recently. In general, the locker room is mostly just a bunch of conversations about nothing in particular, interspersed with all of the games.
Gameday is definitely when the locker room is at its best, and I'd imagine that's the case for every team. We joke around a bunch come game time, have some pretty good reactions to what goes on, and generally carry a pretty positive attitude. Winning is fun because we can get hyped and talk about the odds we just hit for 3 trillion TPE; losing is fun because we can make fun of it without getting too salty. Like with any good locker room, our QB, soevil, is definitely the biggest voice come gameday. Even with me being busy as I am on weekday nights, I make sure to keep discord open to rib around with him a bit. Despite the ups and downs of the season, the fact that we never had super high expectations going in is probably the biggest reason why we can keep up a good attitude. We've played some decent games and punched above our weight at times, so what's there to complain about?
There are many amazing users in the Tijuana locker room. Obviously, we have our main locker room chat where everyone gets hyped about gameday, and it gets super active during gametimes. This is really good, as I often don't pay attention to when my team is playing and wouldn't know if it wasn't for the active locker room. Some of the channels that we have in our locker room that boost engagement and build a community sense are sports discussions, a food channel, music channel. These are all pretty basic sim league channels, but from my experience, having them always helps boost engagement and build a much better locker room. I would say out of all my teammates I am on the less active side, which is saying a lot, because I wouldn't consider myself "inactive" by any means. It would be a shame if I mentioned some of my most active teammates but left out anyone who has been active so I'll just say thank you to everyone who contributes for making the Luchadores locker room great!
As a proud new member of the Yeeeti, I have been surprised by the level of engagement in our locker room and the camaraderie that people have displayed there. Even though most of it has not fostered any winning or better on field performance, that is more due to the nature of its being a tanking season.
We are fortunate to have a wide variety of personalities with a wide range of interest so our locker room always has a chat going on in some channel that you can find interest in. From sports channels like hockey, baseball, basketball and football to channels about video games, pets, food and music, there is always something for everyone. In regards to what I bring to the locker room, I would like to think I am a jack of all trades type. I love chatting sports as one of the resident and dreaded Boston sports fans. I also love video games so I spend some time in those channels as well. Overall, I think most of the team is super active in the locker room, so its hard to say anyone specifically stands out.
Partnering with Swoosh this season, he and I have created a new channel in the Baltimore Hawks locker room called "Meet Your Hawks". With Swoosh providing the graphics and myself collecting the information, we have created infographics for each user on our team. In order to connect players to the users, each card includes the player name, forum username, player season, position, user location, a player highlight, a user highlight, and their favorite football team (NFL and/or college). In the end, we ended up with a collection of graphics that look like this:
My hope in creating this is that new users drafted onto our team will be able to quickly identify who is who and get a brief introduction to everyone in the locker room. Plus, with Swoosh making the graphics, it gives everyone a fun signature graphic to use across ISFL forums / discord. Hopefully, we are able to continue this into future seasons as well! Juan wasn’t quite sure what to expect the first time he sat down for high tea at the London Royals’ training complex. The white lace tablecloth was a world away from the red and white checkered tarps that typically covered the benches he ate local barbecue atop in his childhood. And when the plates arrived with dainty sandwiches and tiny cups of tea perched atop equally tiny saucers, he made the business decision to go ahead and order seconds right away.
Before diving in he lifted the teacup toward him for closer inspection. A strong smell unlike any he’s experienced before wafted to his nose and he recoiled a bit before looking around at his teammates. Most were sipping away happily or talking to another teammate between single serving bites of the tiny crustless sandwiches. With a shrug, the large defensive tackle tipped the teacup back and drank its contents in a single gulp. Etiquette requires the pinkie to be held aloft during such a maneuver. That wasn’t an issue for Rascal whose hideously disfigured fingers already approximated the correct pose. |
