Everyone knows the importance of having good chemistry when it comes to team building. You can have the best superstars in the entire league, but the success will not last if you constantly have to balance the rowdy players that need to get attention. However, there are teams that can find the balance between superstars and incredible success. Nowhere else has been able to manage that better than the Minnesota Grey Ducks in S47. The team recently had many players get picked up in the ISFL draft that also had to swap positions. With that many faces in new areas, most teams would struggle to be able to find a great balance. Instead the Grey Ducks find themselves on top of the DSFL with a 6-1 record with plenty of growing potential of the new faces as the members of the team train each other for their old positions. Where an old face left, they still pass on their experience to the new person there. The blended locker room atmosphere in Minnesota has given them great success both off the field and on it.
The Butchers are on the rebound big time this year. There's even talk of a playoff run. Could it be? That remains to be seen. Why this turnaround is occurring is much more clear cut though. While team leadership is incredibly supportive, strategic, and truly excellent at bringing the team together around a single goal, they are not the source of power pushing this squad to new heights. No. That source is a V-12 in a retired school bus that's been painted team colors and is driven by the one and only Marty Crane. Last season players were continuously late to practice and Crane took it upon himself to make sure everyone is giving as much as they can for the organization by literally picking up all the Butchers coaches, players, and training staff prior to practices and games. When he first suggested the idea most of the folks thought he was kidding, but Marty has never been one to joke around. With the backing of the team captains and terrifyingly dead in the eyes Dewey Greenbeans, the squad knows not to mess around and take the bus. Also, he makes a sick breakfast burrito and keeps the wagon stocked, so the crew doesn't mind it too much.

The Baltimore Hawks have a fantastic locker room. I can’t speak on any other clubhouses outside of BAL and CHI when I was there with my last player.
Everybody here has a great sense of humor and loves to carry on conversations that can last hours meaning that it’s far from a dead locker room. One of the things that we like to do is to Podcasts with our team members, Even if it takes a couple weeks to get everybody to finally commit. One of the unique things about the Baltimore locker room is how many people are from the same region in the United States. Yes, we do have people outside of the country, namely Australia, and Europe. But we have several people from the Pacific Northwest region of the United States meaning that a lot of us have so many things in common where we know exactly what the other people may be talking about in regards to regional delicacies like IPA beers. Now we if can finally get a podcast pumped out this month. I will be very pleased.
Locker room is such a funny temperature to keep. Different personalities, different tastes, different humors. Our locker room is kept light and not super active, not overly active. It's done that way on purpose to give people time not burn out, not feel the need to be over active. The humour in there is light and easy, losses don't come with any bickering. Losses are taken in stride. The self depreciating humor is appreciated. Wins are celebrated with jokes and there has been no room for any negativity. I think this is maintainable when the atmosphere is kept light and the activity now forced. Descisions are made in the war room. Most of my time is spent swimming though. At first when I went up to the ISFL I was hoping for a more active locker room at first. However I am glad that it isn't overly active because it would be draining trying to keep up so much with the Jones. I love the temperature of the LR, it's the right amount.
s43 Baron Nomination for Best Author, and Best New Author. Quite possibly, the greatest compliment I have received from anybody. I am no author I draw because I can not write. Most of you can not read.

Mr. Willis is all about fostering a locker room culture of camaraderie and trust. One of the ways he's taken on the responsibility for that culture is by hosting weekly All-Team Game Nights at the hobby shop he owns in downtown Cape Town. Oftentimes, he'll introduce a new game to his team mates, or groups will form up around favorites and the game room will be filled with delighted shouts and enthusiastic conversation as everyone gets deep into their games. He always makes sure to keep these private events stocked with local beer and good food. He's also made it a habit to take the rookies under his wing and take them around to his favorite spots in Cape Town, showing them the places they should stay away from at night as well as the secret gems off the beaten path that tourists rarely stumble upon. He has come to truly love the city he's called home now for 6 years and loves sharing that with his teammates.
The Cape Town Crash have been fostering positive vibes despite some tough losses by trying to increase our intellectual abilities by competing with each other within every single New York Times daily game, this includes Wordle, Connections and the miniature crossword. This has been going on for a long time now and Dru Freduci has become the undisputed (heavily disputed) champion of the New York Times gauntlet.
This has allowed Dru to bring his vastly superior knowledge to the locker room, and it has begun to rub off on his teammates and general managers. People have long been asking “Dru, why is Negs suddenly making good decisions” and I have to tel them it is solely because Dru has entered the locker room and pressured everyone to better themselves and expand their knowledge bases. If not for Dru Freduci and his expansive knowledge of all things, the Crash could very well be 0-10 at this point. |
