In South Dakota, nobody cares what you do so Joliet had an interesting pet growing up. A red kangaroo named Roger lived with Joliet from the ages of 12 until he moved out at 18 though Roger is still living to this day with the Christ family in Brookings. Countless times Joliet has been kicked by Roger when they were rough housing but it only strengthened the young Christ in preparation for a great football career. Most of the time, Roger is a laid back marsupial and loves to cuddle up with people and watch a movie but sometimes he just needs to go hop around on the ranch. Having a red kangaroo as a pet growing up made Joliet unique growing up and he always shows his uniqueness on and off the field so it was a perfect combination. It is certain that Joliet will be heartbroken when Roger finally passes but they can live up to 20 years in captivity and Roger is certain to live on to cheer for Joliet Christ in the big leagues. Even now, Roger can be sometimes seen wearing a custom Portland Pythons jersey with Roger Christ on the back sporting Joliet's number 11.
