Hello everyone, i’m writing this post due to the fact that i’ve been noticing something originally brought up by @ElMerchanto He basically said that the Active check should’ve been the biggest TPE gainer each week.

Now i’m going to be showing WHY he is correct, and basically adding on my ideas






This past ISFL DRAFT * As of April 2023

This past ISFL draft plays a big part of this. Liv Elsathelookout was picked first, wth 268 TPE, But Jamdrain Lebayers, was picked 3rd with 289 TPE. In fact, another player, Notso Smart was drafted 13th ovr, and he had more TPE than Liv.

Now this is not making fun of Liv at all, but it is showing that teams would rather players with a bigger bank account then TPE amounts, some players realize this, and they know that active checks are a waste of time, but what if they weren’t?


First Solution


 


My first solution is simple, give players 500k for completing active checks, this allows users to purchase the 500 k training if wanted, or if they want, they can bet it at the leagues casino. This is a win win for everyone, 1+ TPE more then the 2 the AC gives, if they want, or they can make teams happy by stretching out their bank accounts. This provides users an ability to build their bank accounts up, or use the money to get TPE.

I feel this is a simple way to fix the active check, and probably the best.




Second Solution


My second solution is a bit more complex, offer users money bonuses for completing every active check for a season. This would work in one of 2 ways

First way: 2 million dollar prize for completing every Active check. This would help newer users mostly, but as many of the Ogs of the league have said, New users are the most important.

Second way: 5 million dollar prize for completing every Active check AND the Written PTs throughout the season, this would also help the newer users by providing them money for both the AC and WPT.





Third Solution 

This way is providing users more TPE, rather then Money, giving users 5 TPE from the Active check, rather then 2. I honestly feel this is a solid way for business to be conducted, 5 TPE is the same amount you get for weekly training, and that gives players 10 TPE a week for the training and Active check, rather then 7, More TPE for everyone, Who can be mad?




Those 3 reasons are exactly why the ISFL Activity check should be redone. Does anyone else care? Probably not.

Not sure I agree tbh. AC’s are basically free tpe as it is, they require minimum effort

Notso Smart was forcing his way back to Arizona which is why he fell to that point. Bayley who went 1oa was previously a GM and been in the league for like 5 irl years so has that combo of high activity, war room experience, and near garenteed max earner

In the gran scheme of everything tpe earning is a marathon not a race. Bayley is currently at 1300 tpe.

This is an interesting discussion topic and one that has got me thinking.

In my 8 months in this league, I have found that more activity happening around the league makes the experience more enjoyable. So from that point of view players should be rewarded for being active (and thus teams should prioritize active users).

So how are users active? Activity checks are an easy way to measure that but it is the bare minimum and doesn’t add anything to the league as a whole. Other more engaging ways to measure activity include writing media, making graphics,  and using the league discord. Those methods earn league money. Not to mention the pay that users receive from league jobs to keep everything running. So a healthy bank account is also a measure of high activity on the part of the user.

While TPE at draft time is an easy measuring stick, it doesn’t guarantee that a player will maintain that level of activity. So I support the status quo.

Yet that includes a payout for this media post. So even though I don’t agree with the idea posted, it’s a good thing to reward the posting of ideas!

I think someone did a media about this before (or I was talking to someone about it) and how beneficial it could be for the league to empower “mid earners” more by making the AC more than the WT. I wish I remembered the specifics.

I think that was the ElMerchanto article he mentioned at the start. I remember that post as well. 

It is an interesting discussion though. I think the AC being more TPE than the WT helps those mid earners, whereas the TPE gained from WTs (which are paid for my jobs/media/yapping) helps set apart the max earners.

What really sets apart the max earners is equipment. 30 TPE per season is over 200 TPE before regression.

Realistically, changing AC, WT, whatever doesn't really matter, yes you want a max earner, but more than that you want a consistent earner. Someone said it earlier that TPE earning is a marathon. The best picks are the ones you can trust to continue earning for a whole career. Who shows a lot of promise in their TPE earning being sustainable. Regardless of how much TPE you make each activity worth, what will really matter still is all the extra curriculars that make you stand out as a player who will be consistent.

I don't disagree with you.

Ivery been a max earner since day 1, so I can't speak for the casual earners, but I would venture to guess that the grind needed to have your player even be decent can shy away casual users. By making the earlier part of your career less grindy, maybe that'll keep the casual and mid earners around longer?

Also, contracts stop paying solely for WTs after your first DSFL season. So unless they're active, they will lose out on WT TPE quickly.

Fantasy gives out 1 mil for playing and then between 500k-5 mil for the top 5 finishers in each group (of 8?) it's pretty decent free money. Send downs get a minimum of 4 mil per season because that's covered by DSFL and doesn't count to team's caps. A 500 word media is 1 mil. A single 500 word media in a season basically bumps you up to enough to cover max training.

The point is the grind separates the best from the rest. It is totally ok to not max earn, and mid earners who might be light on the cap, who are valuable members in the room contribute in their own right.

This article talked about the top picks of the draft though, and you want to place your bets on the sure thing at that point in the draft. It's totally okay to only do the 500k training every week to manage your money and earn continuously.

Those players are good picks, but it's the grind that separates the very top of the draft. Teams want players who look like they can consistently grind at the top for 10 seasons.
