Hello everyone. Oh, boy! Is it gorgeous out today! I always do love coming out on to The Blue here at Boise State on a sunny day. The vibrant color of the field really pops, I'll miss playing on blue grass, but I'm excited to start my pro career and that is why you and I are here today, to talk about that.
Before I take any of your questions I'd like to cover two points first.
Point One.
I am absolutely excited for the S15 Prospect Bowl. I love that the organizers decided to do a full Round Robin, not going to lie, I did vote for it. While I love winning, and I'd be excited if the Blackbirds won the Prospect Bowl, it will be just a small step in my career. So I'm more excited about the increase in guaranteed valuable playing time to show all the GMs who I am on the field. Let's go Blackbirds! :blackbirds:
Point Two.
A few rumors have been getting back to me, so I'd like to clear the air up.
Rumor #1: I'd love to be drafted by Portland Pythons.
That is TRUE. Being from Idaho, the Pythons are the closest professional football team. I don't care if they're DSFL, they're my favorite team. That said, it's a draft and nothing is guaranteed, so I'll play my hardest no matter who drafts me.
Rumor #2: I don't want to be drafted by Tijuana.
That is FALSE!! I have a lot of family in California. Being able to play near to them so they can come to see me play would be great! That said, what is True, is I don't want to be drafted by the Solar Bears. Florida is the last place I want to live, I want to be as far away from Florida Man as possible. I just saw he attack a McDonald's worker over a straw!
Now that those rumors have been cleared up, I'll answer any questions.
@terriblehippo
Are there any football players (DSFL, NSFL, NFL, etc.) you hope to emulate, either on or off the field?
I am a big fan of Micah Hyde. In fact, some have said I'm his doppelganger lol. He has been in the NFL for six years and I think he gets overlooked by a lot of people. There is an episode of The Film Room by Brett Kollmann that breaks down one of Hyde's interceptions. Kollmann in detail explains that Hyde nabbed this interception simply because he has incredible instinct. That is what I hope to emulate. Yes, it takes skill, talent and intellect to play the game, but to make the unexpected unbelievable plays needs a dash of instinct.
What's your biggest weakness as a player?
My biggest weakness will always be Strength. I've put a lot of effort into being the fastest on the field, and to be a good safety I also need to have good tackle and hands skills, as well as good intelligence. As such Strength has always ended up being the last skill I work on each week.
How will you react if you are drafted by Palm Beach?
Oh man, I really hope you're joking. I'd hate it if I had to move to Florida. That won't influence how I play though, I'll still put 100% effort into my career regardless of who drafts me. Just because I have a polarizing opinion doesn't mean I'll cause trouble in the locker room or play half-heartedly on the field. Palm Beach is one of two expansion teams, so they'll be picking a lot of players. If Palm Beach does select me, I'll assume it's because I'm the best remaining prospect on the board at the time.
@`EnfysNest`
What sets you apart from other safeties in the draft?
As I mentioned in my answer about my weaknesses to terriblehippo, I have put a lot of effort into being the fastest player on the field. That won't change, and that is what will set me apart from the other safeties.
Any fellow prospects you are looking forward to playing with/against?
This entire class is huge so I am still learning player names and who is being active. And truthfully that includes all the current DSFL and NSFL veterans too.
Of the current safety prospects, there are a few others who, like me are excited about having good competition to see who the best safety is. Shout out to Martavious Mack, Fatih Terim, Jack Rambo, and Richard D'Attoria. I think if a DSFL team drafted myself and one of them, they have the strongest secondary in the league.
A few none safeties that I have noticed are Morgan Marshall, Lanzer Gervious and Jay Longshaw. From what I've seen Jay will be one of the first picks of the draft as QB is so important and he is putting in the hard work. Morgan Marshall should be another high pick because if a team can't get one of the top QBs, then they better have the best RB possible. As for Lanzer he just always seems to be at the gym, training center, or PT at the same time I am, not mention that flashy sig he made really stands out. I'm sure he will be one of the first LBs to be selected.

Safeties are very versatile and are usually asked to play multiple roles. Where will you prefer to play?
I didn't start playing football until I got to high school. Before that, I played center back on a lot of soccer teams growing up. Additionally, I attended a small high school, so I played on both sides of the ball at WR and S. I'm no stranger to playing various positions. I think I could easily move upfield and play CB or play WR as I did in high school. That said my preferred spot is safety, I like being able to see the whole play unfold in front of me allowing me to see exactly where and when to move to get the tackle or break up a pass.
@`EnfysNest`
What are your expectations for the Prospect Bowl?
The Prospect Bowl will be lots of fun, I'm excited. The Blackbirds will definitely win a few games, and we should be one of the top 4 teams. I'm an honest guy and I shoot straight, I'd be surprised if we reach the final though. We have a very strong defense, with Lightsout Lewis, Johnny Slothface, Xerxes Ridley, and of course fellow safety Quintin Sinclair, we should be one of the toughest defenses the other teams will play against. I just hope our Offense can keep up.
How high in the draft do you expect to be selected?
That is a tough question. The safety class is deep, and there are a lot of other positions with fewer choices. I doubt I'll be a 1st round pick. My goal is to be the 2nd or 3rd safety in the class to be drafted. Richard D'Attoria V has a big jump having already played a few games for Tijuana, I'm just trying my hardest to catch up to him.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My fellow safeties. Regardless of play level, whether it was high school or college, or now DSFL, I get my motivation from my peers. That continual struggle and competition to be the best at the position is what drives me.
Any specific goals for your first DSFL season?
Everyone wants to be a winner and get the hardware. Unfortunately, not everyone can accomplish that and someone will end up last. For me personally, my goal is to start at Safety in every game. My dare to dream goal is to get a pick6.
Would you be fine with taking snaps at other positions like cornerback, or do you want to exclusively play at safety? Check my answer to Numbers' question.
