Round 1
1. - Brock Landers, WR
Love the pick. In my mock draft I posted I had said I felt like the Outlaws should go with Brock Landers as they really needed a wide receiver. Now that they did he should fit right in with Sam Hardwick and form a solid young duo at receiver. Outlaws quarterback Andrew Reese has to be excited about this one.
2. - Quenton Bode, LB
Well this is a surprise to me. I can tell my mock draft is going to be horribly wrong, or maybe it's perfect, and the GMs are horribly wrong! Quenton Bode is a very nice player and was a big part of the best DSFL defense in the league. The Second Line really need to build up the defense and going with Bode is a great way to kick things off.
3. - Johnny Slothface, LB
Here we go! I did mock Slothface to New Orleans, albeit the wrong order, but I definitely felt like they needed to grab this guy. Slothface has a chance to be the best linebacker in this class and his biggest competition for that tile was Bode who happens to be his teammate now. Fantastic start for New Orleans in this one.
4. - Nero Alexander, DE
Hate this pick, absolutely hate it. Not because of the player, I believe Nero Alexander is one of the two most talented players in this draft, but I dislike spending this high on the position. They really need a guy who can fill in for Dick Wizardry in Seaosn 16 and leaving Morgan Marshall on the board is bad. Hope they can fill the RB need somewhere else. Alexander is a great player nonetheless.
5. Copperheads - Chase Jensen, TE
Wow, another pick I am not in love with. Again, fantastic talent, but a position that just isn't all that important. Not too mention that Jensen is going to be a bigger value in the blocking game then the passing game. I think the Copperheads will not get great value picking a tight end this high.
6. Butchers - Lightsout Lewis, LB
Who? This seems like the Seattle Seahawks are picking here as I have never heard of this guy. It's also likely I am not informed about this guy as he was not on the TPE rankings list I was looking at during my mock. However now that I am aware of who this guy is, this looks like a fantastic selection, and at a position I love to build a foundation at. Great pick Butchers. That's how you start an expansion franchise.
7. (via ) - Ricardo Morris, DT
Trade! The Outlaws jumped up to this slot to get their guy in Ricardo Morris. Love the player don't love the position. You don't need super high end TPE defensive lineman and I feel a linebacker or corner back would have made a bigger impact. Still, the player is fantastic, I just hope he provides enough value in the run game to justify selecting him this high.
8. - AJ Lattimore, DT
Why? What is with these GMs? I just don't understand. I am experienced in this sim engine and while I know defensive lineman can be overpowered, I haven't really seen that in this league so far. This pick should of been the safety Walt Green as they really need a safety. Maybe they end up with one later on.
9. - Richard D'Attoria, DB
Now we are talking! Richard D'Attoria is a stud and is actually pick to a team that really needs the position they selected. I could see D'Attoria eventually moving to corner for the Liberty but if he sticks at safety he should make a lot of impactful plays. Fantastic addition to the locker room for this team.
10. - Ahri Espeeyeeseetee, WR
Another pick I really like. Ahri is one of the two best wide receivers in this draft and after him there is quite a big drop off. The Sabercats will be losing Kazimir Oles to expansion so getting his replacement was a great decision. Getting this kind of upside with the last pick of the draft is incredible.
Round 2
11. (via ): - Mo Berry, LB
Three picks in a row that I am very pleased with. The Yeti did a great job to move down and pick up picks in this deep draft and still grab a player of Mo Berry's caliber. Linebacker is an impact position and the Yeti needed impact players for it. Berry is going to be a fan favorite in Colorado.
12. - Faith Terim, DB
I am very surprised with the player not so much the position. I feel like Walt Green would of been a better pick but Terim is a great player in his own right. This is a solid first pick for the Hawks and a guy that can replenish the team when the older veterans start dropping off.
13. - Forrest Gump, RB
Why not Morgan Marshall? I don't understand this one. Maybe some team ties led to this pick but I don't like it at all. Marshall is going to be the top back in this draft class, mark my words. I also don't see the value here as new Orleans already has a good young back on the roster. Having a two-headed monster isn't as critical as filling the defensive side of the ball with good starters.
14. - Morgan Marshall, RB
Phew! The Wraiths waited on picking a running back and it worked out. They did a number on this draft as Marshall is one of my favorites. He will be a great replacement for Wizardry in Season 16 and is a player that the Wraiths can ride for 25 carries every single game.
15. Copperheads - Rod Tidwell, WR
Well, I am glad they picked a wide receiver, but I still can't get over passing on Ahri for a plodding tight end. But I digress. Rod Tidwell is an exciting young receiver and should make a lot of plays for the Copperheads.
16. Butchers - Xerxes Ridley, DB
This is a first round talent in the middle of the second round. The Butchers are cleaning up in this draft after already getting Lewis int eh first round. Finding top end corner backs in this league has shown to be tough so being able to snag Xerxes to build around as an expansion team is simply a fantastic move by this front office.
17. - Walt Green, DB
Finally, here goes Walt Green. This guy had an amazing season for the San Antonio Marshall and has continued to get better and better. I hated them selecting Terim over Green but then they turn around and select Green as well so I am happy again. Great job Hawks.
18. - Lanzer Grievous, LB
I didn't understand passing on a defensive back in the first round and now that Green is off the board the draft pool was slim. I understand them shifting gears and grabbing a promising looking linebacker of the future. The Otters will need some holes to be filled in Season 16 and Grievous will be a great one to have waiting in the wings.
19. - Emondov Emoji, DB
Best pick of the draft. As it should be as this player is the GM player. Ignoring that fact, the Liberty need a corner back, and Emoji should fill right in and be a 10-year stud for this franchise.
20. - Cameron Olsen, TE
The Sabercats are getting lucky to have last pick in such a deep draft. I think Cameron Olsen is a very underrated player in this draft not only for a tight end but overall. I like this pick a lot and think he will be a sturdy player at tight end for this team for a lot of years to come.
