Ok, now let us get to what you are waiting for…making the selections. This is going to be very fun to do.
There will be only one player chosen from each position, which makes the choice that much harder.
As is with anything like this, I am sure many of you will find my selections up for debate.
So, without further adieu, let's get into this...and let the arguments begin.
Cornerback:
Atlas Quin - 484 TPE – 406 Tackles – 6 TFL – 3 Sacks – 6 INTs – 30 PD – 2 TD – 3 FF – 2 FR
HeHateMe PickSix – 742 TPE – 275 Tackles – 1 TFL – 2 Sacks – 6 INTs – 80 PD – 0 TD – 3 FF – 1 FR
Osiris Firestorm-Fjord – 1010 TPE – 280 Tackles – 0 TFL – 1 Sack – 8 INTs – 74 PD – 0 TD – 3 FF – 1 FR
When first seeing the big TPE discrepancy from these 3 cornerbacks, I thought that this decision was going to be very simple. Well, it was not. First, let me note that if Quin had been a consistent earner and stayed more active, he had potential to be a great player in the league. PickSix is the only one of the 3 to see action in S21 at Cornerback, which improves his career totals, but brings his yearly averages down. This is really a toss-up, and while Firestorm-Fjord may end his career as the better of the 2, PickSix has done more with less, and gets the edge here. At this same time next season, I expect this pick to be different.
Selection: CB - HeHateMe PickSix
Defensive End:
Chip Otle – 281 TPE - 53 Tackles – 18 TFL – 3 FF – 2 FR – 7 Sacks – 0 Safeties
Immanuel Blackstone – 1136 TPE – 260 Tackles – 78 TFL – 5 FF – 7 FR – 32 Sacks – 3 Safeties
Logan Noble Jr – 594 TPE – 214 Tackles – 43 TFL – 1 FF – 0 FR – 31 Sacks – 3 Safeties
Matt Hole – 308 TPE – 170 Tackles – 63 TFL – 1 FF – 1 FR – 18 Sacks - 0 Safeties
While Noble has had an impressive career, Blackstone is the clear winner here. His 260 total tackles and 78 TFLs leads all Defensive Ends for the most since S21. Immanuel is a future hall of famer. Enjoy watching him in his prime.
Selection: DE – Immanuel Blackstone
Defensive Tackle:
John "Tripod" Smirh – 894 TPE - 50 Tackles – 4 TFL – 1 FF – 3 Sacks – 0 PD
Otis Allen – 1108 TPE – 19 Tackles - 5 TFL – 0 FF - 1 Sacks – 0 PD
Pete "Plop" Miller – 1086 TPE - 44 Tackles - 1 TFL – 1 FF - 9 Sacks – 0 PD
Rapid Eagle – 933 TPE - 24 Tackles - 0 TFL – 0 FF – 5 Sacks – 0 PD
Riles McTackle – 258 TPE - 28 Tackles - 0 TFL – 0 FF - 3 Sacks – 0 PD
Rotticus Scott – 987 TPE - 47 Tackles - 0 TFL – 0 FF – 4 Sacks – 2 PD
Defensive Tackle is full of top earners (sans McTackle), and they should all be commended for their efforts.
They are all having solid careers at a difficult position, but there is one player that has the edge in stats.
Selection: DT - Pete "Plop" Miller
Linebacker:
Douglas Quaid – 1124 TPE – 453 Tackles – 6 TFL – 2 FF – 3 FR – 33 Sacks – 5 INTs – 65 PD – 1 Safety – 0 TD
Holden Summers – 403 TPE – 273 Tackles – 5 TFL – 3 FF – 1 FR – 22 Sacks – 1 INTs – 45 PD – 1 Safety – 0 TD
Ugarth the Dissector – 451 TPE – 314 Tackles - 2 TFL – 5 FF – 1 FR – 30 Sacks – 2 INTs – 51 PD - 0 Safety – 1 TD
The TPE disparity does not seem to make a huge difference at the linebacker position between these 3 candidates. Ugarth the Dissector and Holden Summers are holding their own despite having 270 less combined TPE than Quaid, which is unbelievable. Their stats do not equate to that huge discrepancy. Douglas has the edge here, but it proves that high TPE at the linebacker position may not be that important in the ISFL.
Selection: LB – Douglas Quaid
Safety:
Gregor Macgregor – 633 TPE – 277 Tackles – 2 TFL – 6 FF – 2 FR – 17 Sacks – 6 INT – 8 PD – 1 TD
Prince Vegeta – 1160 TPE – 386 Tackles – 1 TFL – 2 FF – 1 FR – 23 Sacks – 14 INT – 29 PD – 5 TD
Again, another comparison where the TPE has not made an extreme drastic difference in the stats on the field in most categories. Vegeta is the clear winner at Safety and is a major superstar at his position.
Selection: S – Prince Vegeta
Kicker/Punter:
Dougie Smalls – 801 TPE – 191 XPM – 95.0 XP% - 128 FGM – 93.4 FG% - 6 FG over 50+ yards (6/10)
J.J. “Jay” Jay-Jaymison – 373 TPE – 167 XPM – 92.8 XP% - 133 FGM – 93.0 FG% - 4 FG over 50+ yards (4/9)
Lefty Louis – 228 TPE – 82 XPM – 93.2 XP% - 58 FGM – 87.9 FG% - 2 FG over 50+ yards
Despite solid numbers from Jay-Jaymison, the advantage goes to Dougie Smalls in every major statistical category.
Selection: K – Dougie Smalls
Offensive Line:
Dorfus Jimbo Jr – 562 TPE – 160 Pancakes – 20 Sacks Allowed
Douglas Quail – 405 TPE - 245 Pancakes – 1 Sacks Allowed
Perry Tucker Jr. – 322 TPE - 134 Pancakes - 12 Sacks Allowed
Simon Tremblay – 634 TPE - 233 Pancakes - 3 Sacks Allowed
This is very interesting. Douglas Quail, with the 2nd lowest TPE among this group of linemen, has the most pancake blocks. He also has a mind-blowing stat of only 1 sack allowed in his career. Simon Tremblay leads the group in TPE, and makes a strong case for the choice, but Quail edges him out.
Selection: Offensive Lineman – Douglas Quail
Running Back:
Baby Yoda – 926 TPE – 3,671 Rushing Yards – 3.7 YPC - 29 Rush TDs – 187 Receptions - 1,164 Rec Yards – 4 Rec TDs
Rando Cardrissian – 866 TPE – 4,118 Rushing Yards – 3.9 YDC – 26 Rush TDs – 129 Receptions - 1,237 Rec Yards – 3 Rec TDs
Raphtalia Chan – 1157 TPE – 3,319 Rushing Yards – 3.8 YPC - 25 Rush TDs - 163 Receptions – 1,791 Rec Yards – 12 Rec TDs
All 3 of these candidates are high TPE earners, and Chan’s statistics have suffered due to having to split carries in Sarasota. Yoda has the edge in rushing TDs and receptions, while Cardrissian has the greater yards per carry. Chan makes a strong case with 12 receiving TDs, but his rushing yards fall way too short to be considered. Rando gets the nod, but all 3 are excellent backs.
Selection: RB - Rando Cardrissian
Tight End:
Gronk Robertoswki – 290 TPE
James Lewandowski – 830 TPE - 234 Receptions – 2,090 Yards – 6 TDs – 8.9 YPR
Leon McDavid – 1100 TPE – 285 Receptions – 2,288 Yards – 10 TDs – 8.0 YPR
Rainier Wolfcastle – 289 TPE - 136 Receptions – 1,163 Yards – 5 TDs – 8.6 YPR
Tree Gelbman – 790 TPE - 165 Receptions – 1,296 Yards – 4 TDs – 7.9 YPR
Well, since I am in this category, I was hoping my selection would not be controversial, and that there would be a clear-cut choice. However, despite McDavid’s big TPE advantage and leads in 3 of the 4 stat categories against his only real rival (Lewandowski) in this category, he has played 13 more games than the Hawks tight end. Therefore, we need to look at averages to determine a winner. Their receptions per game are nearly identical (3.84 for Lewandowski & 3.85 for McDavid). Receiving Yards per game goes to Lewandowski (34.3 to 30.9). They have both been consistent and reliable targets for their respective squads, while Lewandowski’s S25 breakout season will most likely make him the selection in this same category next season.
Selection: TE – Leon McDavid
Wide Receiver:
Chris Kross – WR – 517 TPE - 192 Receptions – 2,786 Yards – 14 TDs
Ed Barker – WR – 932 TPE – 265 Receptions – 4,141 Yards – 26 TDs
Flash Panda – WR – 924 TPE - 150 Receptions – 2,350 Yards – 18 TDs
Future Trunks – WR – 886 TPE - 244 Receptions – 3,706 Yards – 25 TDs
This is very strong group of players from the S21 Draft Class, with Trunks and Panda the best of the group. They are both having impressive careers to this point and I expect that to continue for a long time. They are averaging over 15 yards per reception and are very important parts of their respective teams.
Selection: WR - Ed Barker
Quarterback:
Chika Fujiwara – QB – 1045 TPE – 1,102 Completions – 13,339 Yards – 78 TDs – 219 YPG – 61.48 QBR
George O'Donnell – QB – 980 TPE – 975 Completions – 10,935 Yards – 53 TDs – 228 YPG – 77.39 QBR
This is an interesting one, and while Fujiwara had a better season than O’Donnell is S25, the overall career stats give the edge to O’Donnell. Baltimore’s offense really started rolling this season, and Chika should continue to improve her personal bests each season for the foreseeable future.
Selection: QB – George O’Donnell
So, to recap…
S21 All-Draft Team
QB – George O’Donnell (47th Overall Pick)
RB - Rando Cardrissian (32nd Overall Pick)
WR - Ed Barker (18th Overall Pick)
