Welcome to XaveValor’s first-ever Prediction! I love to take dives into stats and comparisons between teams so I thought I would try my hand at this. I will probably be way off for the first few as I learn more about the simulation, so take these predictions with a grain of salt.
I’ll be comparing key stats between teams to try and determine the winner before the sim does by looking at their Passing and Rushing stats on both sides of the ball. I’m assigning a weight to the advantage based on the disparity with +1 being a slight advantage, +2 being a large advantage, and +3 being an incredible advantage. Though we all know that the sim is gonna sim! Let’s get started!
I’ll be including all playoff teams in the initial graph and then will give an analysis by game afterward. This should help us understand how all teams stack up.
ASFC WC: NOLA @ ARI (ARI +2)
Have to give this game to ARI who dominated NOLA in passing and boasts the stoutest rush defense in the conference. I don’t see a lot of avenues of attack for NOLA unless they can break through with the running game as ARI will certainly beat them in the air.
NSFC WC: SAR @ BER (SAR +1)
Having played each other not 3 weeks earlier and ending in a tie, I have to give SAR the slight advantage. While BER has the best rush attack in the entire league, SAR has a top 4 Rush defense and could limit the explosiveness enough to let their air game take over. I’m not quite counting BER out of this one but have to give SAR a slight advantage due to an early-season win as well. I would not fault anyone for taking BER in this one.
ASFC CC: ARI @ HON (ARI +1)
This is so close it’s nearly impossible to know which way it will go. ARI is one tie from having the same record as HON which gave HON the 1 seed. This game, in my opinion, will come down to turnovers which ARI is more likely to generate and less likely to be a victim. As stated previously, ARI’s passing attack cannot be underestimated and may take over early. The rushing of both teams is nearly identical while ARI has been better at stopping the run. I have to choose ARI taking the conference title and heading to Ultimus against….
NSFC CC: SAR @ CHI (CHI +3)
Sorry, Sarasota fans this doesn’t look good. Chicago has been firing on all cylinders taking a #2 spot in the league for both passing offense and defense. CHI is averaging 31 points A GAME which is ludicrous. I don’t believe that SAR they can generate enough points on the ground to overcome the CHI onslaught. Butchers making it to the Ultimus.
Ultimus: ARI vs. CHI (CHI +2)
Very much like the previous game, ARI would need enough points on the ground to win. I just don’t see it happening. CHI is just statistically strong on offense they can run over most teams. It will come down to ARI CBs making plays and grabbing INT which has not been their strength. I have to choose CHI here to win it all and hoist the trophy.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read these predictions, I will be submitting these as my own in the thread. I will continue to make these types of posts in the next season and hopefully improve my ability to call games. Catch you on the field!
