Everybody else is doing one of these, why not me? Will be around all day, so ask away.
Goals: Standing out as the best in my position for my class. I think it might be a little unreasonable to step into a new sim league as a new create off the bat without being fully aware of all the in's and outs and hope to be best of my class. Especially creating at this time when there's already so much to do between rookie tasks, existing PTs, media to write etc etc so I think starting off reasonable is the way to go. Not to mention, apparently the number of NSFL GMs recreating this season as well also make that highly unlikely unless I devoted myself to becoming a potential HO member in the next 3 or 4 days. I'm gonna stick with my easy pace to start. I will say, the cities and team names have been a lot more exotic than what I'm used to. Feels like an entirely different sport...oh wait.
DSFL Teams: I'm looking to do a media piece on this exact question once I've finished up some of my other rookie stuff. As far as I can tell the only thing I can visibly see will be their win/loss records and championship histories as well as if there's any familiar names from the SHL. That would be nice to at least have one or two friendly faces when landing in a completely new environment and different locker room. I guess I do have to give props to the Portland Pythons for standing out as a winning-est team? That might just be the koolaid but I'm sure they're probably not saying stuff without the meat to back it up.
Experience in the league: Now that I'm spending more time after creating my character, there's not been too much that has thrown me off. I think if I was new to sim leagues I would definitely be a lot more confused about the number of things that I could do, should do and what not to watch out for. Some of the help has been great from the people who are in this league and that I share a locker room with already elsewhere, as well as the main discord. I'm surprised that the rookie class discord doesn't have rookie mentors in there, but it does seem like there's more than enough people able to and willing to help out in the main discord when it comes to the help channels that you can always ask a question and be able to get an answer right away. Not to mention it also probably helps because you'll be able to look back and see the history of questions to get an answer as well if necessary.
2) More and more excitement I guess. I think I have a few things to do before I can fully sit back and enjoy the experience such as writing some media and the like, so it does feel a bit like checking off a to do list. Part of it might be that I'm literally doing a to-do list to make sure I'm getting everything done between getting ready for this sim league. I know that as exciting as it was for my Junior draft in the SHL, I missed out a bit on that experience because I was lost to start, missed out on some opportunities and landed behind the eight ball to start. Lots of work to climb up after words, and I'm sure my future self will appreciate being able to do a little less later on when I get some of that work done now.
3) To be quite honest, I don't think I have a specific person in mind rather than a specific style. Maybe somebody can chime in and tell me but unfortunately I don't have the same history with football that I do with something like hockey. At most I'll be able to casually recollect some names like Gronkowski or Antonio Gates as amazing receiving Tight Ends. While I don't necessarily think I would need to be the same kind of down field threats, what I do know is that I want to build a guy who can basically do it all. It might leave me in a position where I'm not good enough in particular stat but I suppose that's where having a good coaching staff to guide me would help in making the most out of my player and out of this sim.
4) I don't have a particular place right now in mind but if I had to list the qualities of a place that I would like to land, I think locker room environment first and foremost stands out as maybe the end all be all of what is important. Winning is definitely nice, and if anything, still important for itself because it's going to be hard to enjoy loss after loss since by extension if you're losing, it's likely that your player and their teammates aren't doing well. Can't say that it's a particularly original comment of wanting to go to a place with a great locker room and winning record but being completely new to the site, there's not too much that I can go off of and I can't imagine that some of the friends who are more familiar with this league are able to say too much in fear of tampering.
Good luck to you as well, friend.
[!--QuoteBegin-LimJahey date=1586959560]What flavor smoothie are you?
Is there a team you are dying to go to? Is there a team that tickles your fancy more than others?
How are you going to keep up with or exceed your expectations?
What do you feel your team role is going to end up being?[/quote]
Flavor smoothie: Going to have to depend on the day. I think I'm a pretty basic guy so it'll be between Strawberry banana and some sort of mango hurricane esque style. But there'll be days where maybe I'm more of a dragonfruit and OJ mix. Throw in some kale maybe. It's all a possibility.
As for team preference, going to have a media piece maybe pointing that out (or the lack of preference out) so stay tuned.
I think for my expectations of myself at the very least, it'll be heavily dependent on my money making abilities. Having made as much as I did on another sim league, I know the amount of work that goes into amassing that kind of fortune. While I doubt I'll have that same sort of hoarding ability, I'm more likely to pace myself here unless I really get hooked into the scouting/roster/depth chart side of things since that's where my recipe is for media elsewhere. Worst case is that I'll end up buying equipment a smidgen later than others but keeping up with the other top earners in the end.

Quote:1) Why should you be at the top of people's draft boards?1) I think in drafting me, teams will be excited to be able to get a user and player who is not only going to be very active, but also somebody who grows with the team. I mean that in the sense that if they believe that they have a thriving environment and they're wanting to continue that trend and add to that particular success, I feel that personally I fit better in that situation to get my feet under me before I grow into a significant piece.
2) What are you feeling before draft day comes around?
3) Who do you model your game after?
4) Where would you like to end up?
Thank you Mr. Smoothie, and good luck.
