Hey, everyone. CK here. It is with great pride that I'm announcing my intent to retire from GMing, hopefully for the final time, following Season 45. Before I start gushing too much, I'll answer the two questions I know will be asked right off the top - no, I'm not leaving the league, and no, I'm not dying, at least that I'm aware. This job has a way of wearing on you over time, and I just don't have the drive or energy anymore that I once did for some routine GM tasks, so while this decision was not made lightly, it was never going to get easier to make after 6.5 years, and it definitely feels like the right time for me to step aside and give someone else an opportunity to hone their management skills.
The Chaos name is one that I chose kind of on a whim back in 2017 in relation to my PBE player at the time, but over time, it's really come to mean something special to me as more than a name, but a mindset as well. To me, it represents the idea that even if we're not the best team on paper or not supposed to be competitive, that we can still make our opponents think twice and maybe even scare them a little bit, and I believe that my teams, here & PBE, accomplished that on numerous occasions.
To everyone who's ever donned the green & gold, it's been absolute pleasure serving you, and I love you all. As I've said before, I'm not leaving the league or anything like that, so this is absolutely not a goodbye, and I'm actually looking forward to transitioning to a role in the league with less pressure and hopefully making some some time for a couple side projects I've had in mind for a while now. There are way too many people I'd like to thank to even start trying to tag people, so I won't even bother and risk leaving someone out, but you know who you are.
As for my replacement, I have full confidence in Russ to continue holding down the fort as he's done for the last 2 years, and I'll leave it up to him to find the best fit to succeed me as GM.
