I'm making this because instead of replying to the original post and getting nothing, I want to receive money for this.
The Chicago Butchers are a Lolcow, a person or group you get extensive laughs from, who doesn't know they are being made fun of. They can often think they are admired for what they are doing, but secretly are being laughed at constantly.
Lets start by analyzing the more recent events. Yesterday, the Butchers posted Transparency on Chicago, in which user @Jiggly_333 brought to light the damage that those in the league caused not only the GMs of the Butchers, but also the Butcher brand. Rookies who were fairly new created prejudices towards a team based on a joke that being drafted by the Butchers was a 'death sentence.'
That piece of media actually affected me personally. I have several times made fun of the Portland Pythons, for bad drafts and having to trade away key pieces, and felt sympathy for Chicago. I used my platform, these three tweets, because we should not make someone feel as though their mental health was affected by making mistakes in a sim league.
It's what Chicago does after this that propelled them into, what I believe to be, the first NSFL lolcow.
So Chicago no longer has a GM, as the two other GMs are gone. Valor has, reportedly stepped down and the other publicly quit, citing dealing with mental health. There is still a season to finish, so lovely HO who we all love steps in and starts finding applicants. From what I have been able to find, HO was down to two potential GMs, finally deciding on one.
After speaking to this individual in a conversation on discord, they have chosen to remain anonymous for the time being. However there are a few things I want to highlight now that will become important later on:
1. This individual has been around the league for almost roughly 1 year.
2. Has had experience as a GM and in several war rooms since joining the league.
3. Has a focus on trades and scouting.
Now HO introduces this prospect to the Chicago war room, who then interviews them, seeing if the individual is a professional fit for their team. Chicago, as a team, then decides to not accept HO's applicant and promotes Jiggly and @MrStennett as interim GMs. Now I do not know MrStennett all that well, but from various sources around the league I have found that he is basically the calm and collected GM. Jiggly is not.
I want you to know this is not a personal attack. Jiggly may be a wonderful individual and great guy. But from the information I have received, he should not be a GM of any team going forward, interim or otherwise. And here is why:
1. Trading Draft picks for adult photos
When Jiggly was GM of the blues, he informed an immature co-GM of another team that he had photos of Daisey Ridley in a provocative nature. Jiggly agreed to trade these photos for draft compensation, but the deal was vetoed by the head GM of the other team, according to @iamslm22.
Even if it were a joke, this is not something that should've required a veto. A GM of a team is held to a higher standard, and should not have been manipulating another GM for draft capital, especially with provocative photos.
2. Infamous "Four Firsts For Bex"
Jiggly really wanted Bex to play for Chicago, and was willing to do anything. According to Bex, this is due to her being a great locker room presence and a position of need for the Butchers at RB. Sadly San Jose selected Bex first and was unwilling to accept Chicago's first offer, which was 1 first round pick. According to user @ckroyal92 the offer changed to four firsts, but was quickly changed to three. CKRoyal believes that Jiggly wanted Bex to take over as a GM for Chicago, which is why so much capital was going to be traded for Bex.
"From what I understand, Jiggly wanted her to take over as GM of the Butchers but obviously hadn't discussed it with her at all or he would've known that she had no interest in GMing or playing for Chicago," CKRoyal said.
I apologize to Bex as she is a wonderful individual and I mean nothing rude, but no prospect is worth trading three first round picks for. A trade of that level for one prospect can destroy a teams future, and effectively close their window of competitive play, which is what Chicago is coming to.
Not only is it a bad trade idea, but also Bex had no interest in playing for the Butchers or GMing. This would have been easy to figure out if you had just asked the individual, which is a question that should be asked if you are willing to give up that large of a draft capital for one player.
3. Been Fired Not Once But Twice
According to @Hallmonitor_20, Jiggles was fired from both of his previous GM positions.
"The 1st time was a straight up firing and forced out by HO the second time was more of a 'you need to step down or we will fire you'," Hall said.
Being forced out by HO and then suggestively being fired should be enough of an issue to avoid allowing an individual to be an interim again.
These instances lead me to believe that Jiggles, as a GM, is a lolcow. But then comes Transparency on Chicago: Day 2, which like most sequels is even worse then the first.
To quote the article,
"We grilled them, maybe a bit harshly, but it's warranted given the situation they were about to jump into. We asked about player retention, test simming, what to do about draft picks. Everything. And we couldn't really find enough of a professional reason to not accept them as GM."
Jiggly's war room found no reason to not select the individual that HO provided for them in a professional manner. To put this into prospective, the applicant was exactly what Chicago would need. But the reason that Jiggly said they didn't choose this individual is because they were an unknown person.
This person has been a part of the league for almost a year, as stated above, but because Chicago had to do a little digging to find out who they were, they were uncertain enough to not make a selection. This individual, who Jiggly stated was qualified for the position, was not selected because they didn't know him.
Look Chicago, right now you do not need to have someone you know in charge of you. You need someone from the outside who is qualified enough to be recommended by HO. This applicant has focused on trading and scouting, one of the key features when attempting a rebuild, which is what Chicago is going through. Hell this is their top earners:
S14 Rose Jenkins QB 1036
S15 Farley Hank RB 768
S12 Thorian Skarsgard DT 739
S19 Sean O’Leary WR 671
S18 Mike Hockhertz LB 658
S15 Jack Rambo S 631
S14 Leighton Lee LB 556
(Ryan Leaf has been removed due to the fact that he is most likely gone, also adding to the lolcow status)
Not really an inspiring list, especially since their top are about to start regressing.
So Chicago doesn't select HO, which is just a bewildering move, and instead listens to Jiggle say:
"What if we seize the means of production?"
Yes I know it is a joke but it is not a good one. So according to Jiggles, he was the one to raise the idea that Chicago is run by everyone and then put himself in charge. Now they have a vote which results will be released later, which is more of a democracy then a socialist group (people voting on who governs them).
Now we enter the area of conspiracy (did Jiggly orchestrate all of this to get Oles as GM, Chicago may get rebranded, etc.), which is all a waste of time.
All this entire fiasco has done has cemented Chicago as the joke of the league, something they wanted to avoid just yesterday. Users will continue to make jokes about Chicago, even if they aren't the worse team in the league. And the best part? This is all warranted.
Chicago chose the worst possible way to go about the entire situation. Instead of admitting 'we're shit' like the first transparent article said they would, Chicago has instead done a "we're fine and we can do this ourselves."
I await the results of tonights vote and Day 3 to be posted tomorrow to receive more gifts.
(Note I haven't even mentioned the rumors of tampering being brought against them from multiple sources, or the apparent 'doxxing' of public twitters.)
