I'M BACK AT THE TOP BABY
Okay but seriously, let's take a really quick look at wealth distribution in the ISFL. The last time we did this (see here), the richest 5 owned as much money as the bottom 37.67% of users. However, the overall wealth now of the top 5 has increased by 300 million dollars - but we also have a lot more new users and a larger active user base. These mostly offset, and so the richest 5 now have the same amount of wealth as the lowest 37.10% of users.
The percentiles improved too!
- 10%: $1.72M → $2.00M (+$0.28M)
- 25%: $4.77M → $5.00M (+$0.23M)
- 50%: $8M → $8.57M (+$0.57M)
- 75%: $12.3M → $13.19M (+$1.11M)
- 90% $24.26M → $24.70M (+0.44M)
- 99%: $94.2M → $114.83M (+20.63M)
The richest get richer-est. Feels awfully familiar....
Overall though, wealth across the board increased, as the league passed $20.6 BILLION in total money. Is it mostly concentrated at the top? Yes. It sure is a good thing this isn't a real economy :)
The new DSFL rule stipulating rookie contracts are 6M instead of 5M might help close the gap. But with @IsaStarcrossed and myself passing the half-billion mark - who knows.
