Through the first part of the season, the Sabercats are just simply on fire. Currently, the team is sitting at 6-1 with the largest point differential in the league. The key to this early season success has been the amazing defensive performance. DJ McClean has to be recognized as the catalyst to the success of the defense. McClean has 9 sacks this season which is good for second in the league. He is also third in tackles helping the Sabercats clamp down on any opposing teams. Of course if we look on the offensive side of the ball it is clear to see that quarterback play is also a strength for San Jose. With 22 touchdowns to only 3 interceptions, Patterson is absolutely slinging the rock this season. His QB rating is an absurd 22 points higher than the closest competitor. At this pace we are looking at an easy MVP if he can continue his success.
It's been an exciting start to the season so far for Marty Crane and the Butchers. Chicago currently has a winning record! It's a tight race in the NSFC, but you have to enjoy at least seeing improvement over the last couple of years. The Butchers appear to be headed the right direction with both sides of the ball contributing to the cause. The offense is currently the 4th highest-scoring unit in the conference and the defense has allowed the third least points scored. These numbers don't scream dominance, but Chicago has positioned itself solidly in the middle of the pack with some upside. For starters, the defense appears to be very optimistic. They already have ten interceptions which is good for second most in the entire league. The sack total could be higher, but that may happen naturally as teams begin to respect the secondary a bit more and opt to hold the ball a bit longer before throwing into "The Grinder" (name yet to be trademarked). Overall, you have to love where the Butchers are as an organization with a bright future ahead and clear progress made over the last few years. While winning the trophy this year is a lofty goal, making the playoffs alone would be a huge win for Chicago and that's what I'm personally setting as the bar for the year going forward.
7 games into Season 47 and the Berlin Fire Salamanders sit in 6th place in the NSFC with a record of 2-5. It wasn't expected to be a playoff season for the team given the regression and retirement of veteran contributors while integrating some rookies who will hopefully become the backbone of the team in coming seasons. Rookie seasons for quarterbacks can be quite tricky to navigate but Tuna TurnDaBallOva has had some promising moments thus far with fellow rookies Willie Swaggert and Pitter Patter also making a mark in their rookie ISFL campaign. For Emile Charles, the season started out well with a 10 catch 139 yards and 2 touchdown performance. However, things have been a fair bit more quiet for Charles having only grabbed a single touchdown since opening weekend. Production in receiving yards has too slowed down, looking less likely to repeat last season's performance. On a brighter note for Charles, his production in the return game has looked better compared to last season. For the team, it looks like Berlin will remain on the outside looking with a chance of a top 3 pick in the upcoming draft. For Charles, it seems that Season 47 won't be as productive as Season 46 which is a bit unfortunate given regression is just around the corner.

Things are going great for Danny Nedelko this season. He's pretty much on his last legs but he has 420 (lol, dank) yards and 5 touchdowns. Probably some receiving stats too, but only the trash running backs count those. Danny looks like he'll finish his career fourth in rushing TDs and fifth in rushing yards, so I think his farewell tour is going about as well as can be expected.
Obviously it helps to be playing on the Arizona Outlaws, who are 6-1 so far this season - because of course we are, we've been the best for ages. Quote this, post it in your LR, the hate nourishes me. Sweet, sweet saline. Our biggest challenge will be to win the whole thing this season, to go back-to-back (again) and end Danny's career with a fifth Ultimus ring, which would be pretty insane. I have no idea if the sim will allow this to happen, but I am sure we will be doing our best.
Entering his final season in the league with the Otters, Ace McAlister was looking to get 13 PDs to get to 2nd all time in the career leaderboard in that category. Unfortunately for Acce, he is not getting close to this at all, as he only has 1 PD through 7 games, so without some miracle, Ace will be finishing 4th all time in that category. While Ace is doing bad, the Otters have been performing great with a 5-2 record through 7 games, putting then 3rd in the conference behind the Sabercats and Outlaws, who I believe the two losses are to. With 9 games left in the season, the Otters can hopefully keep the best defense in the league going, as they will need it since their offense has been struggling all season despite having multiple all-pro caliber skill position players, I have a hunch that we have been very unlucky so far, and if we fix that we can become the 1 seed by the end of the season.
The Yellowknife Wraiths after finishing last season with an 8-8 record, going to the Ultimus after being on the road in both playoff games leading up to it, and bringing both of them to overtime, had high expectations for the season. No one was getting taxed by regression too hard, every position group was improving, and their weakest position group (WR) was suddenly massively improved. Last season's WR3 was now better than their WR1 last season, and a new max earning weapon for Boudreaux had arrived. Nick Williams. Things were looking up for Yellowknife, maybe they could break 0.500 this season! The season did not start this way, despite Nick Williams gaining over 100 yards and a TD, Yellowknife was defeated at home by Chicago. Yellowknife then beat Sarasota at home, and then went to Baltimore and blew them out, handing them their only loss of the season so far. Yellowknife then lost at home to a Colorado team that had been getting blown out by everyone, this is currently their only win. After week 7, Yellowknife currently sits at 4-3, a game above 0.500. We have won games against the strong teams, we have lost games against the weak teams.
It's an interesting season for the Wratihs and Zenzeroni. Coming off an Ultimus appearance you would expect bigger expectations than they currently have but with no one expecting them to make the Ultimus last season no one is really expecting another Ultimus appearance despite an improving roster. Despite that anything short of the playoffs will be deemed a failure and the loss to the Yeti hurts a lot. Besides that, Zenzeroni is having a fairly quiet season. He is middle of the pack in just about every category which is an improvement on his miserable last two seasons. That being said, he has struggled these last two games and flashbacks to those last two seasons are rearing their ugly head. Over this next week if the Wraiths can take at least 2 of 3 games that should give them a big boost in the playoff hunt in a tight conference with three teams holding a record of 4-3 and Cape Town at 3-4 the Wraiths need to get ahead of the hunt to guarantee themselves a playoff spot sooner rather than later.
Howdy! I am responsible for quite possibly the greatest kicker to ever grace the ISFL and am the most accomplished media writer the ISFL has ever seen (no need to ask anyone else regarding either of those claims)

At 0-7 to start the season, things are going exactly according to plan for the Honolulu Hahalua. It's obviously a tank season to set up for future success, and while we'd obviously have fun winning it's hard to be upset when the team's TPE situation is where it is. However, quarterback Lenard McRobinson definitely needs to work on two aspects of his game to guide the team to victory: taking fewer sacks, where he currently sits tied for most in the league with rookie Tuna TurnDaBallOva, and throwing fewer interceptions, especially in high leverage situations. The former should be doable with the athleticism and mobility McRobinson boasts, but the passing game has less obvious room for improvement. The hope is that a stronger supporting cast will help the team's stats continue to improve as the Hahalua's young pass catchers continue to grow in coming seasons. For now, the tank is still on full speed ahead.
