16. Yellowknife has had some ups and downs the last few seasons, from winning it all with a very easy playoffs in season 39 and making it to the finals the next season to now missing the last two playoffs. Our players got old and we had to do a soft rebuild, something that happens regularly in sim leagues to try and make the best team possible (eventually). Season 43 was definitely the start of the rebuild with an 7 and 9 record with a negative 102 points differential, I knew that me as a defender was not doing enough for us to win games. The latest season (Season 44) was an improvement but we seemed to be more unlucky in some of the games. We started the preseason going 2-2, not great but could be worse. The real highlight of the preseason was the win vs the Outlaw, a team that had been recently very good. We started the season 2-1 with a huge 24-21 opener win against the sailfish, everything was looking up. After that the loss to the crash was disappointing but expected and a close win against the Saber Cats brought us back up. Unfortunately Dan didn't do much in any of these game, with one tackle, he even took a 15 yard penalty in game three. After that things got a bit more disappointing when we had two straight losses with to the Butchers and the Hawks, the highlight for me was Dan recording his first sack of the season in the game against the hawks. After that things looked up again with the team winning three of the next four, Dan having a highlight game against the Otters with a sack, forced fumble and a safety. After that the team only won three of the last 7 games to end the season to go 8 and 8 and miss the playoffs. The definite down point was the loss to NOLA in week 11.
Let’s look back on the first couple of seasons for the ISFL and look at which teams won the most games and some interesting points from that.
Firstly the first IsFL season started with only six teams: Arizona, Orange Baltimore, Colorado, Yellowknife’s and San Jose’s. New Orleans and Cape Town would be added a season later. Yellowknife, Arizona and Colorado all won their first games. With only Colorodo winning their second meaning we had our first all time game win leader. They would hold the lead until game 10 where Arizona would secure their 7th win and take the lead, Colorodo had 6, you get the picture. That lead would again change one game later when Colorado took the lead back, before it swaped back to Arizona on game 12. Arizona would hold that lead for a long long while, until game 96 when the Orange County Otter took over. During this time Arizona held the lead for 85 games winning 57 games in that time. A good strong dynasty for the start of the ISFL history. At 85 games into the ISFL the worst two teams where New Orleans and Colardo. New Orleans had only won 16 games, a feat that Arizona took 28 games to achieve. Colorado had secured 22 wins, which Arizona did within 30 games. Colorado had a really lean patch near the start of the ISFL, after 30 games they’d won 17 a reasonable rate at a touch over 50%, it then took them 40 more games to reach 22 wins, however things then get worse for Colorado after that. There 23 win game after another 42 games there 102 game in the ISFL, resulting in a win rate of roughly 25%. Close to 3 seasons without a win. There season history doesn’t make it much better, going eight wins then another eight wins followed by a three win season then a 1 win season then a two win one. Then two whole seasons without a win. A really really dark patch for Colorado and thier fans. Hopefully a run of form like that won’t happen again in the ISFL. So far out of the 17 season that I’ve analysed there have only been 3 zero win seasons and Colorado have two of them. The other is held by Cape Town during the 10th season in the ISFL. So at 97 games into the history of the ISFL the all time game winner swapped from Arizona to Orange County. Where Orange County have held the record up until 224 games in, where they secured 153 wins. Baltimore are the next closest team where they have secured 132 wins in that time period. Followed very closely by Yellowknife who have got 121 wins. Our intial leaders Arizona have secured 112 wins. It’s a very close race for 5th position with bit San Jose & Cape Town only speeates by 1 win. San Jose have 103 and Cape Town have 102. Unfortunetly there is a bit of a gap to the last two teams with New Orleans at 82 wins and then in last place are Colorado at 74 wins. So after sixteen seasons in the ISFL, the Orange County Otters are the winners team in history and have had a several season of utter dominance. There has never been a single unbeaten season the most has been thirteen wins which has happens four times. Arizona have achieved this twice in season two and three. The Yellowknife Wraiths secured 13 wins in season 7 and Baltimore Hawks in season 10. NOLA had a really slow start to their history when in the first six seasons in the league they achieved 16 wins averaging 2.66 wins per season. The other expansion team who started at the same time Cape Town, in the same time period of their first six season managed 47 wins at an average of 7.33 a season. Another stat that Colorado might not want to have is the fact they only have a max of 8 wins in any given season, every other team has had at least ten wins. Hopefully you found that interesting, I hope to compete the full ISFL history before the start of the next season. Keep an eye out for it.
I am going to use this opportunity to write about that time Slate and I were GMs of the London Royals in S28 and won the Ultimini. While I have a lot of great memories in the league (and still continue to form them), this is probably one of my favorite ones. I hope you enjoy reading about it.
So even before the season started, Slate and I had some brief but serious discussions about whether or not we wanted to just punt the season. In other words, try and trade away our picks for future draft capital. Just looking at the rosters of some our opponents (mainly Portland), we felt very out-manned on both offense and defense. We eventually concluded that this probably wouldn't be the best course of action. Besides finding a trade partner (which I feel is harder to do in the DSFL draft than the ISFL draft), we would be passing up the opportunity to draft a new user and potential future war room member or GM. And boy was that right. In our previous draft, we selected some fantastic users including Pib, Duke, Ace, and future London GM Seb (with our 2nd to last pick nonetheless). We also picked our new starting QB, Red Arrow Jr., who would only be with us one season but more on that later. In this draft, we selected Lucid Dreams who would go on to GM the team with Seb (and myself for one season). Before the season even started, Slate and I had the entire war room behind us in testing to figure what formations and personnel combinations gave us the best chance of winning. We had a very strong war room (shades of S24) with lots of sim knowledge. Obviously there was some tweaking done throughout the season, but we eventually found something that gave us the best chance of winning. Once that was established, it was an issue of keeping everyone active and earning. Mag worked his magic the previous season and was able to pull Seb out from the depths of being IA with a Reddit message. Fortunately almost everyone we drafted required little encouragement to be active and update, which I think contributed greatly to the Royals' success in S28. Getting into the start of the season, the Royals started strong with three straight wins, including a week 1 win over the Portland Pythons, a team that we would see 2 more times that season. Week 4, however, London suffered an unfortunate loss to our longtime rivals, the Dallas Birddogs, on their home field. The loss stung, mainly because the trash talking was incessant, but London would get revenge later on in the season. After going 1 and 1 in the next 2 weeks, London would go on a six game winning streak. Five of those wins would be by 1 possession. London would again finish the last 2 weeks of the season going 1 and 1, with Portland getting their revenge for week 1. In the playoffs, London would first face off against, you guessed it, the Portland Pythons. Portland was a very strong team, having also gone 11-3 during the regular season. London and Portland were pretty evenly matched throughout the first half of the game with the score being 17-13 Portland. But in the second half, the Royals ran away with it, scoring an additional 10 points for a final score of 23-17. Rookie defensive end Lucid Dreams had a clutch defensive touchdown in the first half that ultimately would be the difference maker in the win. Moving on to the Ultimini, the Royals faced the DSFL powerhouse Tijuana Luchadores. Tijuana has almost always had success in the DSFL and that was looking to be the case in the Ultimini game as well as running back Lonnie Jackson rattled off a 42-yard touchdown run to start things off. However, things quickly shifted and it was pretty much all Royals from that point on. Rainbow Dash, the kicker and punter for London, connected on 4 field goals on route to a 26-10 victory. It was an incredible feeling to see the team you put so much time and effort into running win the whole shebang. Before I end this, though, I just want to acknowledge that I could certainly not have done it without the help of my co-GM Slate. The dude is a genius and I was very fortunate to get to GM alongside him.

I've been putting this off like a school assignment but the time has come where I vere off from complaining about Queen Baron and her illegitment awards and do a written task on some random subject I have to pretend to care about. So with that out of the way I feel it is fitting to use the prompt "Sim gonna sim" for my offseason task. Why would I pick sim gods as something I would willingly write about? Because I genuinely feel that the Yellowknife Wraiths were plagued by the MOST bad luck throughout the entire season than any other team in the league. I have highlighted and talked about this extensively in my most recent article so I will try and be a bit more brief but there is a lot to go over so let's get to talking. First of all it's Absolute Unit's last season, facing regression we were trying to do the best to stay relevant as it was, no need to have bad sim luck to hurt us but that is exactly what happened. However, it didn't happen right away. Three games were played two games were won and one game lost. Nothing special or notable about those wins and losses. In fact sim luck was on the Wraiths side winning both their games by three points. But that was where their sim luck would come to an abrupt end. The next game on their schedule was against a still rebuilding Chicago Butchers team. And one would think the Wraiths, who were still a capable football team would easily destroy the Butchers but the sim had other plans. The Wraiths would get blown out by the Butchers thanks to the sim gifting 6 almost 7 turnovers to the Butchers. No team no matter how good can recover from 6 turnovers and the Wraiths were no exception. Continuing the trend, the sim gods continued to look unfavorably at the Wraiths causing 3 more turnovers against the mighty Hawks giving the Wariths no chance. We skip a few games to an ill fated matchup with their divisional foes Berlin Fire Salamanders. It seemed as though the sim gods had finally looked favorable on the Wraiths not causing a single turnover for them. But it was just the sims sick way of luring the team into a false sense of security. With 2 minutes to go Zenzeroni Xystarch II kicked a field goal to give the Wraiths a 30-25 lead. This was when the Sim woke up and kicked things into gear. The Wraiths defense had been solid all game but then the sim stepped in gifting the Fire Salamanders two fourth down conversions but still it seemed as though the Wraiths would pull off a victory. But still the sim had one last trick up its sleeve and with two seconds left Christmas threw it to Queen to give the Fire Salamanders the win. As frustrating of a loss it may have been you may be skeptical as to whether it is actually the sim that is against the Wraiths so I turn you to the next game just one week later the Wraiths are facing another bottom dwelling team in New Orleans Second Line. Still very much in the playoff hunt the Wraiths were expected to win easily. The sim once again stepped in and put a stop to that almost immediately. The sim decided much like the Butchers game earlier in the season, that it was time for NOLA to have a career game against the Wraiths. As they got out to a huge lead and easily defeated the Wraiths. But all was not lost miraculously the Wraiths made it to the final game of the season with a chance to still make the playoffs but this was not their own doing, the sim had created the perfect scenario to crush the Wraiths hopes in as brutal a way as possible. Allowing them to claw their way back into the playoff hunt with a 3 game win streak and give them a must win final game of the season only to spit in their face giving them Cape Town as their final opponent and giving them a 41-16 beatdown. And for these reasons I thoroughly believe the Wraiths were plagued the most by the mantra "sim gonna sim" thank you for listening to my TED Talk and I don't look forward to making another one of these next offseason Howdy! I am responsible for quite possibly the greatest kicker to ever grace the ISFL and am the most accomplished media writer the ISFL has ever seen (no need to ask anyone else regarding either of those claims)

Code: 12. Write about your team’s biggest rivalry and what makes it so fierce. Is the competition founded in statistics and the team’s recent performance, or is it a rivalry that developed over time during the team’s history that would exist regardless of statistics? I could think of two teams that we have had great battles with over the last couple seasons. It seems that we always play these two teams in the playoffs and that our battles in the regular season are always very tight. Arizona has been the team to beat in the ASFC for as long as I can remember. You always cherish those victories against them no matter when they come up. Even in the regular season those games feel like playoff games and they can get chippy very, very quickly. We have also played them in our own fair share of playoff games. We beat them to go to the Ultimus a season ago and this past season we beat them at the end of the season to keep them out of the playoffs. There is always a lot on the line when our two teams meet each other. The other team would have to be Honolulu. They have been the team to beat lately, outside of us, and they have got the best of us a few teams in a row. They beat us in a very close playoff game to get to the Ultimus this season and then went on to win the championship. That could have been us and we could have played in two straight championship games but instead we had to watch them from the couch. They have built another powerhouse and they are looking like the team to beat again this coming season so we will be looking to the schedule and circling that game twice. I think the obvious other rival we have is our expansion counterpart in Berlin. Since they came into the league at the same time as us we will always be compared to them so we need to make sure we stay ahead of them and always competitive. Code: 16. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season? Well coming off of last season where we were the team to beat and lost in the Ultimus was tough. You get to the top of the mountain and you lose it is hard to regroup and focus all season. So I think all season we had this aura around us that we NEEDED to get back to the championship game. The season started out pretty well. Frank Dux was now in his first full season for the Silverbacks and the rushing attack was doing very well. I think we were out to a 5 and 1 start on the season and were dominating everyone. Our lone loss was a tough loss to Arizona. In the middle of the season Falco and the passing attack was struggling pretty mightily. We went 4 and 4 over 8 games in the middle of the season with the last loss coming to Honolulu. At that point in the season we still controlled our own destiny but it still want not going exactly how we wanted it to go. After that loss the team started to mesh better and the passing attack finally got to where we thought it should be. We ended the season on a good note and it lead to a wild card victory, but unfortunately it ended in the next round to Honolulu. Going into next season Falco needs to get the passing attack back on track. It struggled and it got highlighted in the playoffs. They need to be able to count on the passing game when it matters and Falco needs to take that next step. He has been solid every year but he needs to command this offense and show the front office that he can be the quarterback to get them over the hump and win a championship. It is Falco time.
14. Expansion Expansion Expansion! Tell us why you think the league should expand / not expand or include any ideas (in words) for team branding ideas you have or team locations.
I have only seen one New Zealand expansion team in sim league sports and it was the abomination that Tom Hanks and Scorp created in the SCSFL called the New Zealand Wallabies. For anyone who is unaware the Australian rugby team is called the Wallabies so a team named that would never be accepted in New Zealand. In the past when thinking of brandings I would like to see for a New Zealand sim league team I've always thought Hoiho (Yellow eyed penguin) would be a cool mascot with a nice colour scheme of black white and yellow. But I discovered that a new womens basketball league in New Zealand has been created and there is a team called the Southern Hoiho. So that's really cool but for this task I'd like to do something different. Football is growing in popularity in New Zealand, but if we were thinking practically it's probably best to make a New Zealand team rather than one specific city as that would mean games can be played at different stadiums around the country and potentially draw larger crowds game to game. I think a cool mascot to use would be the Kea, New Zealand's bird of the year for 2017. Yes that is a real thing and it's awesome, some might be aware of this due to the Bird of the Century competiton that was held this year and hijacked by a certain US tv personality. The benefit to the Kea is it's name is also it's te reo maori name, and it's not difficult for foreigners to say either. Better than another option I thought of in the New Zealand falcon who's Maori name is Kārearea which I could see tripping people up. The colour scheme for the New Zealand Kea could be black with olive green, teal and orange accents which reference the colours on the Kea's wings. Tier 2 - (8) - (314 Words) - 5 TPE So far, I have been in the league for just over a month, and let me tell you, its been one of the funnest things I have done in quite a while. I have been playing SHL for quite a long time now, and the whole forum and everything is so easy and natural now, as I was in the SHL before the portal. For me, the experience of meeting people is the best part. Coming into the league, I knew many people from the SHL before hand coming into the league, like my recruiter, Crazy Tomato. The best part is there are so many people here that I previously knew from the SHL, like my GM in Norfolk, Jollyjiggs, a great support to my entry into the league, who is on the same team as me in the SHL. But its not just the people I knew before. Its the people I met just in the ISFL as well, there are too many to name, but basically the whole Norfolk team can go down, as every one of them have been so nice and amazing to me and helping me out. For my player, he hasn't seen time in his rookie season yet, as we haven't started yet, but last season playing as a Post Trade Deadline FA Pickup, I was very impressed, scored a few touchdowns as a RB, and overall having fun. But more fun will come once the season starts and we see where me and my player go from there, earning TPE, and playing ball! As for the drafting portion, I'm Speechless. I am a new user to the game, and somehow I was selected 2nd Overall by the Norfolk Seawolves. It was a dream come true really, something every player dreams of and it became a reality. But now its my job to live up to that pick. Tier 2 - (11) - (301 Words) - 5 TPE Lasse was born in Germany as an only child, had a normal life there as a kid, going to school, playing soccer with his friends. But everything changed for him once his dad decided to take a job in Michigan. It was hard moving to a place where nobody spoke your language, you had no friends, and no soccer. Everyone was all about this sport called Football. So Lasse decided to try it out, and made the football team for his high school in Michigan. He worked hard every day to be the best he can be at the sport, because to him he had nothing else to do. As the years went on, he became really close to his teammates on the team, and became their star player. and along with that came his English. But once high school was finished, he had bigger goals: the University of Michigan Football Team. He attended the University, and ended up making the team, and was their best player. He led them to multiple championships over the years, living the life of University Football Stars, until the letter came from the Seawolves of the DSFL for a professional tryout. Of course, he made the team and finished the season with them. From there, he was put into the DSFL Entry Draft for that season, and was selected 2 Overall by, wouldn't you have guessed it, the Norfolk Seawolves. That's where the story ends, as Lasse is entering his rookie season in the DSFL, but really, its not where it ends. Its just where it starts! We will see as the time come around when Lasse finishes his DSFL Rookie Season and its his time to enter the ISFL ENtry Draft, to see where he ends up for the Rest of his pro Football Career!

11. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league. John Stark VIII came into the league as a highly anticipated prospect with big shoes to fill. The Orange County Otters drafted him fourth overall in the 2056 ISFL draft following the retirement of Hall of Fame linebacker and career Otter Bender Rodriguez. Stark immediately made an impact on both the field and the organization, being named a captain in his first season and being nominated for Defensive Rookie of the Year. While he did not win the award, Stark has continued to improve, becoming one of the best linebackers in the league heading into his fifth season. Stark knows that he could not have done this without the help of his teammates, but also his mentor, Bender himself. Many do not know this but Rodriguez called John from his home in Tijuana on draft night, speaking to the youngster for the first time. On that night he challenged Stark to continue the legacy of great Otter linebackers, to take care of his team, and to surpass his own records. The youngster is already hard at work on the first task, looking to truly break out in this upcoming season. As for the second task set, the Otters are also starting to turn the corner on the short rebuild they've been in for the past few seasons and it is fair to say that Stark has been a big part of the turnaround. As for the records, that is no small task. Rodriguez is Orange County's all time record holder for tackles, TFLs and, and sacks. Additionally, that tackle record is actually the ISFL record for tackles in a career. So let's take a look at where Stark is now and where Bender was after 4 seasons in his career. Bender had 383 tackles, 29 sacks, and 20 TFLs after four seasons. Stark is currently at 447 tackles, 33 sacks, and 36 TFLs. It is definitely fair to say that John Stark VIII has a good chance of breaking those records and living up to Bender's legacy. (336 Words) 14. Expansion Expansion Expansion! Tell us why you think the league should expand / not expand or include any ideas (in words) for team branding ideas you have or team locations. As it stands now, I do not believe the league should expand any time in the near future. It would take a massive amount of new creates the likes of which have not been seen since the covid era of the ISFL. This could possibly happen whenever the ISFL catches up to the SHL and creates a portal, but that won't be happening in the near future anyway. I am a proponent of having fewer teams that are stocked with users as opposed to more teams scarping by with the bare minimum players and bots at the "less fun" positions. The ISFL is a social hobby after all and it is much less fun to be part of a dead locker than an active one no matter how good your team is. That is not to say that I have not had ideas for possible locations and brandings if the ISFL expands though. My suggested teams are as follows: First up is the Quebec City Caribou. While Montreal would normally be the first city in Quebec to get a team, Quebec City provides alliteration and as such is superior. The only downside is that the SMJHL already has a team in this city with the initials QCC, but that is over in another league so does it really matter? I think not. I imagine the Caribou would have iceberg blue and white as their primary colors with a nice cardinal red being the third color. While the ISFL already has a team in Canada, this would still be another international team and would break into a new language market with french. My second team would break ground in a new country though, even a new continent, being the Locomotora de La Paz. Admittedly, this one is my favorite. Not only does it once again have alliteration (along with being a name in another language), but it's branding is fitting with the history of Bolivia. Bolivia has a long history locomotives, with the rail infrastructure first being developed to export the country's natural materials. In fact, Bolivia is the only country in Latin America or the Caribbean in which freight concessionaires also offer long-distance passenger services. The logo for this team would be a classic steam train barreling onwards while the colors would be those of the Bolivian flag, green, yellow, and red. (390 Words)

As I transition from the DSFL to the ISFL, the Austin Copperheads seem very patriotic and fired up about this season. After coming up short in the playoffs last season, they're ready to come back strong. Austin's offensive core is looking electric and here is a basic rundown of their offensive and defensive lineup At QB it's tough to say who's gonna get the starting spot, but based off experience and tpe, I'd have to go with Queen Elizabeth II. Last season he threw for 4035 yards, 24 tds, and 14 ints. Whilst he is a very solid quarterback, but Jay Cue III is a big name from the dafl and is racking up on tpe. He very well could be a threat to Elizabeth's job, and this team could pose as a dual threat quarterback team. At running back we have the infamous Howard Coward and Jeff Newman carrying the rock. Both are max earners and have put up very good numbers in the past few seasons. Last season Coward rushed for 1170 yards, averaging 4.7 yards per carry, and 14 touchdowns. Newman rushed for 1027 yards, averaged 4.9 yards per carry with 11 touchdowns. Both runningbacks have been a force within the league, but with the addition of the new FB Sean Aldrich, this could enhance their already insane run game to a whole new level. At wide receiver we have Zephad Beeblebrox, and Delores Bickerman. Both are as well max earners and gave had themselves very good seasons flying under the radar. Beeblebrox having 915 rec yards with 66 receptions and 5 rec touchdowns, and Bickerman having 1190 rec yards with 92 receptions and 10 receiving touchdowns. Bickerman has seen a little more success than Beeblebrox, but both have been extremely productive within their systems and have improved for this season. At Tight end we have Penger Tolliver. Tolliver had a decent season himself last year, with 509 rec yards, 64 receptions, and 3 receiving touchdowns. He is also a max earner, which should put him in a good spot for this season, as his improvement has been at a massive incline. His production should double thos year as he's ready to be like prime Rob Gronkowski. On the offensive line, we have The Great Khali, Brandon Mason, and Brock Lesnar. Or should I say, Block Lesnar. Ok bad joke, but nevertheless, all 3 of these guys are high earners, and Brandon Mason having a very impressive season last year, with 99 pancakes, and only 2 allowed sacks all season. Khali also with an impressive season allowing only 3 sacks, but having 102 pancakes, and breaking that triple digit mark for pancakes. Lesnar on the other hand, didn't have as good of a season, allowing 8 sacks with 68 pancakes. Lesnar has still been putting in that work, and trying to become a better lineman, and im excited to see what him and this offensive line is going to do this season. Now starting the defense off, at DT/DE we have Carly Ray Jenson, Oops! All Pro, and Jr Frankenstereo. Jenson is a max earner, having one hell of a season last year, with 11 sacks and 65 tackles. Frankenstereo had an ok season for himself, with 15 tackles and 5 sacks. Frankenstereo is looking to turn it up this season and become a force to be reckoned with. Oops all Pro is coming up from the DSFL, and is looking to have his breakout year in the isfl. At LB we have Crasher Wake, Tank McGibbons, Walter Gunther and Mario Moloka'i. McGibbons and Molokai both being max earners, have boomed last year, McGibbons with 16 sacks and 85 tackles, and Molokai with 82 tackles and 12 sacks. Gunther was previously at Baltimore, being a solid LB with 69 tackles, but unfortunately 0 sacks. Crasher Wake being a rookie last season, had 66 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception, having himself a pretty good rookie season. At CB/S we have Draft Steal, Trent Thigpen, Robert Green, - Geralt, and Zamir Kehla Jr. All of which are decent players. Geralt is the only naz earner of the bynch, with 64 tackles, 3 sacks, and 1 interception having a solid season. Zamir had 89 tackles, but 0 ints or sacks. Draft Steal had quite a season for himself with 69 tackles and 4 interceptions. Trent Thigpen was previously in the dsfl, but has been brought up and ready for action. Robert Green had a sneaky season, with 34 tackles and 3 interceptions. That is the Austin copperheads this season! I'm very pumped to be apart of this team

16. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?
Marty Crane had a somewhat disappointing season. After having maxed his TPE (for DSFL) and seeing his main competition for carries in Dallas last year, Dogwood Maple, get called up in the offseason, it seemed like Marty was being set up for a huge year. That opportunity seemed to never really materialize as Marty wound up once again acting as one of 2 backs splitting carries despite having nearly 200 TPE more than the rookie he was partnered up with. For whatever reason, the rookie wound up having 150+ carries while averaging significantly less yards per carry (1.3 YPC less). While Marty did well with the ball when given the chance by averaging 4.3 YPC for 737 yards and 3 touchdowns on 160 carries, he once again was not a part of the pro bowl conversation as the top backs had literally twice as many carries. It’s unfortunately just part of the game and Marty took it in stride. He will sadly be never remembered as a great running back in Dallas. With that said, Marty is turning the page and making a major move in the offseason. The leadership team in Chicago has presented an opportunity for him to stay on the field more when he’s up in the big leagues at a position where he can add significant value AND be paired up with a few other exciting defensive backs to build a secondary no one will want to face. That’s right. Marty is moving to Safety! As he’s going to need time to adjust to the new role, Marty will remain in the DSFL one more year, partnering up with his college teammate, Dewey Greenbeans, to create a safety tandem that’s going to bite the pythons every chance they get. Marty Crane the runningback is dead. Long live Marty Crane the safety. Marty and Dewey in the probowl S45. Book it! 10. Through a random lottery drawing, you have been named the league's new commissioner for a day. Congrats! What improvements would you make to the league if you had the power to do whatever you wanted? Hot dog! Marty the Monster is finally in charge. While that’s a hell of an opportunity and there will be several things I’d want to do to maximize the fun in the ISFL, the VERY first thing I’d do is what frankly, we all know needs to happen. Yes, I’m referring to changing the pythons team name to something more appropriate. Something that captures who they really are. Something that just feels right. While there would be more discussion with some of the Dallas loyals to ensure we nail it, I’m leaning towards “The garden snakes” primarily because the birddogs are going to scoop them up and snake them into submission when we play them this year. On a more serious note, I’d love to improve the sim graphics. Maybe some folks wouldn’t want to just dump the dots, but I think there are likely some pretty cool alternatives. This doesn’t need to look like madden 24, but can we at least get closer to Tecmo bowl? In fact, somehow gaining the rights to Tecmo bowl graphics and tossing that bad boy template on the dots would be awesome (have I shown I have no idea how any of this works yet?) I do regularly watch the games as they’re already entertaining, but I think we can do better. I also saw some one of the new updates that was just voted in and I love it. Forcing teams to start players with higher TPE over others is logical and fair. There’s politics in everything, but if people are putting time into making good players, they should see more action. That’s good for the player, good for the team (as they’ll be more competitive), and good for the league. Another idea is to have folks add graphics for players anytime they’re receiving league punishment. DCPhil is caught with multiple characters? Let’s have a pic of his players all in the stocks on the cover page for a day or two to make that punishment a little more embarrassing. Bonus points if we can find a way to let people throw virtual spoiled fruit at him, too. |
